In the U.S., a March 20, 2025 recall covers about 16,200 bottles of Woolite Delicates detergent—not more than 160,000, as a related headline claimed. The affected bottles are 50 fluid ounces and bear one of three lot codes: S24364, S24365 or S24366. If you have one, stop using it and request a full refund from Reckitt.
Why the recall count differs from the headline
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) says about 16,200 bottles were recalled. A March 24, 2025 Yahoo Lifestyle article attributed to Southern Living used “more than 160,000” in its headline, but its body also reports 16,200. The available reports do not explain the discrepancy, so the larger headline figure is not verified. The CPSC recall notice is the source for the official count.

How to tell whether your Woolite is affected
The U.S. recall is limited to 50-fluid-ounce bottles of Woolite Delicates detergent, SKU 62338-72724, with one of these lot codes:
- S24364
- S24365
- S24366
Find the lot code at the top of the bottle’s back. The recalled bottles are white with a light-pink label and cap. The CPSC says they were sold exclusively on Amazon.com in January 2025 for $14 to $17. Other Woolite products and bottles without the listed lot codes are not identified in this notice as recalled.

- Safe for Hand and Machine Wash – Gentle formula ideal for both handwashing and machine washing.

What the bacteria risk means
The recalled detergent may contain Pseudomonas species bacteria, including Pseudomonas oleovorans, an environmental organism commonly found in soil and water. According to the CPSC, people with weakened immune systems or external medical devices face a risk of serious infection after exposure; bacteria may enter through the eyes or a break in the skin. The agency says, “People with healthy immune systems are usually not affected by the bacteria.”
What to do if you have a recalled bottle
- Stop using it immediately. Do not use the detergent from an affected lot.
- Prepare a refund request. Write your name and “Recalled” in permanent marker on the back of the bottle.
- Send a photo to Reckitt. Photograph the bottle so the UPC and lot code are visible, then email the image to [email protected] to request a full refund.
- Dispose of the bottle after receiving the refund. Close it tightly and place it in household trash. Do not empty the detergent or try to recycle the bottle.
Recall status and scope
The CPSC notice, published March 20, 2025, reported no incidents or injuries at that time. That status describes what had been reported when the notice was published; it does not establish whether anything was reported later. The notice concerns only the specified Woolite Delicates bottles and lot codes in the U.S.
