Tech Advisor’s 2023 review found strong cooling and useful dehumidification, alongside awkward controls, audible operation and no included window kit. Check the exact model suffix and your window setup before buying; similarly named Comfee units include different portable and split-system products.
What the MPPH-09CRN7 is—and what it is not
This is a single-hose portable air conditioner that can be moved between rooms, not a fixed split system. It offers cooling, fan and dry (dehumidifying) modes. In cooling mode, its hose must carry warm air outside; without a suitable exterior vent, the unit cannot do its job effectively.
The model identity needs a little care. Tech Advisor’s May 5, 2023 review refers to the tested unit as “09CRN7” or “MPPH-09CRN7,” while its retailer module says “MPPH7-09CRN7.” Comfee’s official product page uses MPPH-09CRN7. Confirm the complete suffix on the listing and regional manual before treating a product as the same unit.
Do not confuse it with the CPPA-09CRN7-QB6, a separate portable model listed in the UK, or Comfee’s CF-AF09A IU/OU 9,000 BTU split system. The split system has separate indoor and outdoor units; its specifications do not describe the MPPH portable AC.

How well does it cool?
In a single reviewer’s hands-on assessment, the MPPH produced a substantial stream of cold air and was effective at cooling and dehumidifying. Tech Advisor’s Emma Rowley described it as blowing “a terrific amount of cold air.” The review also found the basic controls straightforward to use, though it was not a standardized laboratory comparison against other air conditioners.
Comfee’s official French product page rates the MPPH-09CRN7 at 9,000 BTU/2.6 kW and advertises coverage up to 33 m². Tech Advisor gives a smaller room figure of up to 26 m². These are source-specific estimates, not a guarantee that the unit will hold a particular temperature: sunlight, ceiling height, insulation, outdoor temperature and air leakage all affect room cooling. The official page also contains an apparent inconsistency, listing 8,000 BTU in one cooling-mode section despite its 9,000 BTU headline. Treat the headline rating as the manufacturer’s stated capacity, not as proof that every detail on the page is consistent.

Will it fit your window and room?
Window and vent compatibility are the key purchase checks. Tech Advisor says the reviewed unit came with an exhaust hose and wall kit, but no window kit. The reviewer measured the hose at 150 cm and noted that some window shapes or high windows could make installation impractical. A wall kit is not a substitute for a window seal where the hose exits through a window.
- Measure the route from the appliance to the opening; keep it within the hose’s reach and avoid a setup that prevents proper exhaust routing.
- Check that the opening can accept the hose and be sealed around it. If buying a separate seal, match it to both your window style and the hose.
- Confirm what is actually included in the regional listing. The 2023 review’s reported contents were the appliance, remote, hose and wall kit, not a window kit.
- Plan for moving the appliance: Tech Advisor reports about 28 kg/62 lb, while Comfee’s official page lists 25.4 kg. These are different source figures; check the specification for the exact regional product.
Comfee lists dimensions of 35.5 × 34.5 × 70.3 cm on its official French MPPH-09CRN7 page. Measure the intended position and the path through doors or hallways, not only the space beside the window.

Controls and modes: useful basics, confusing details
The available functions are cooling, fan and dry/dehumidify. Do not buy this model expecting heat: Tech Advisor says the remote has a heat button, but it does not operate on this cooling-only unit. The reviewer also found the manual and remote confusing, with some remote buttons apparently having no effect on the tested appliance.
The same review says the remote includes sleep mode and a timer adjustable up to 24 hours. Because the reviewer encountered controls that did not appear to work, verify the functions you care about against the correct regional manual rather than assuming every remote button is active on every version.

Noise and electricity use
Noise figures are not directly comparable
Noise is audible, and the published figures conflict. Tech Advisor reports that the manual claims up to 51 dB(A), while a product page says up to 63 dB; the reviewer could not reconcile the numbers. The review describes rushing air during cooling and louder mechanical sounds at times in dry mode. Comfee’s official page lists 47.2 dB, but does not establish a measurement basis that can be compared directly with those maximum figures. If quiet operation is essential, these figures are not enough to predict how it will sound in your room.
Calculate running cost from your own tariff
Tech Advisor reported 1,015 W and estimated about 36p per hour using the UK tariff assumptions current to its May 2023 review. That is a historical estimate, not a current bill forecast. Comfee’s official page lists 1,000 W; the two figures come from different sources and should not be treated as identical measurements.

For a rough estimate using the official listed power, multiply 1 kW by the hours used and your electricity price per kWh. For example, at a tariff of 30p/kWh, one hour at the listed 1 kW would cost about 30p before allowing for changes in power draw or other factors. Replace that tariff with your current rate, and remember that actual use depends on operating conditions and settings.

Who should consider it?
- A reasonable fit: someone who needs portable cooling for one room, has a workable outside exhaust route and accepts the noise and electricity use of a portable AC.
- A poor fit: someone without a suitable window or exterior vent, someone who needs heating, or someone seeking a quiet unit with independently comparable sound measurements.
- Before ordering: confirm the complete SKU, included window hardware, regional specifications, current price, stock and warranty with the seller. The available evidence does not establish current price or warranty terms for every market.
For comparison with another unit, look beyond BTU: check vent and window compatibility, whether a sealing kit is included, sound-measurement conditions, power draw at your local tariff, controls, warranty and installation requirements. There is no standardized head-to-head test here establishing that this MPPH is better or worse than a named alternative.
