To dry clothes in a Samsung machine, first confirm it is a washer-dryer or another model with a drying function. Then choose a dry-only cycle for clean, wet laundry, or add drying to a wash cycle if the load still needs washing. Cycle names, controls and load limits vary by model and market, so use the instructions for your exact machine.
Check that your Samsung machine can dry clothes
Not every Samsung washing machine has a dryer. Look for drying cycles on the control panel or check the manual for your model number. Samsung says the available cycles depend on the machine; its guide recommends consulting the matching manual for specific settings: Samsung washing machine cycles and program settings.
Samsung’s support instructions also vary by product location. Treat the cycle names and steps below as examples, not a universal button sequence: Samsung Hong Kong’s automatic dry mode guide.
Choose dry-only or Wash+Dry
Dry-only
Use a dry-only cycle when the clothes are already clean and need drying. Depending on the control layout, Samsung washer-dryers may offer Cotton Dry or Synthetics Dry directly, or let you switch a selected cycle to dry-only. Other models may have separate cycles and a Drying Level selector. Follow your panel and manual to find the equivalent setting: Samsung’s washer-dryer instructions.

Wash+Dry
Choose Wash+Dry, or add a drying cycle to the wash, when the load needs both stages. Some control layouts let you select a wash and then add drying; others present Wash+Dry as a cycle. Confirm the load limit for the combined program in your manual rather than assuming it matches the wash capacity.
Samsung Bespoke AI Laundry Combo
On the Bespoke AI Laundry Combo, Samsung’s guide describes selecting a cycle through View All Cycles, customizing the available washer and dryer options, then starting the cycle. Listed dryer options include Dryness, Dry Time, Dry Prep and Wrinkle Prevent. Samsung gives a Time Dry range of 20–240 minutes for this product only; do not apply that range or these labels to another model without checking its manual: Bespoke AI Laundry Combo wash-and-dry guide.
Pick a cycle and dryness setting for the fabric
Cotton or Synthetics
On models that offer them, Cotton Dry is a general drying option and Synthetics Dry is described by Samsung as a lower-temperature choice for heat-sensitive garments. Choose based on the garment care label and the cycle options your machine actually offers; cycle names and availability vary: Samsung’s guide to washing-machine modes.
Automatic level or timed drying
An automatic dry-level setting uses the machine’s sensor to determine when to stop, while timed drying runs for a selected duration where the model and cycle support it. A selected time does not guarantee a particular final dryness, so check the clothes when the cycle ends and follow the manual’s guidance.

Standard or lower/damp dryness
If your model offers dryness levels, a lower or damp setting can leave clothes ready to hang or lay flat instead of fully dry. Higher levels may be intended for large or thick items on applicable machines. Samsung’s Australian control guide notes that available levels depend on the cycle; its US dryer guide describes lower levels for lightweight fabrics or items intended to remain damp: Australian control-panel guide and US dryer settings guide.

- Follow the care label. Samsung cautions against drying clothes that cannot safely be machine-dried, even at low temperatures, because they may be damaged: Samsung Hong Kong’s drying guidance.
- Use the drying capacity and cycle-specific load limit stated in your exact manual. Washer-dryers may have different limits for washing and drying; no single capacity applies across Samsung models.
- Expect mixed loads to finish unevenly. Samsung explains that lighter items can dry first and cause sensor drying to end before heavier pieces are fully dry. Some dryers offer Damp Alert or Mixed Load Bell to signal that lighter items can be removed so heavier pieces can continue drying. Names and availability vary by model: Samsung’s dryer features guide.
Unload safely
After a drying cycle, the door and metal parts on garments may be hot. Samsung advises caution when unloading and notes that some machines may display a hot warning; follow your model’s instructions for any warning, lock or wait period: Samsung Singapore’s automatic dry mode safety guidance.
Find the right instructions for your machine
- Locate the model code on the appliance label or in the documentation that came with the machine.
- Open Samsung Support for your country and search that exact model number.
- Download the matching user manual and check its drying-cycle names, supported settings and load limits.
- Use the panel sequence in that manual. If a cycle or setting named here does not appear on your machine, do not assume another model’s control sequence applies.
Samsung’s regional support pages are useful for understanding common controls, but they do not establish one button sequence or drying capacity for every machine. For broader context on how cycles differ by model, see Samsung Australia’s laundry cycles guide.
