There is no verified drum-removal procedure that applies to every Samsung washer. The right instructions, tools and parts depend on the washer’s complete model code and the market it was sold in. Find the model-specific Samsung repair guide before taking anything apart. If your goal is routine residue cleaning, use the washer’s Self Clean or Pure Cycle where available; drum removal is not needed.
Why the exact Samsung washer model matters
“Samsung washer” is not enough information to identify a safe disassembly method. Samsung support pages are organized by model, and the documents and parts information available can differ by model and region. Samsung Electronics Service Korea also limits its self-repair guides to products and models designated for customer self-repair. A guide being available for one washer does not establish that it applies to another.
Before looking for tools or parts, record the complete model code from your washer’s identification label. Then open the Samsung support page for that model and the relevant country or market. Look for its repair guide and, if listed, exploded view or parts list. If no matching guide is available, do not substitute a guide for a similar-looking washer.
How to find the model-specific repair information
- Record the full model code. Include every letter, number and suffix; a partial family name may not distinguish the correct version.
- Open Samsung support for the washer’s market. Search by the complete code and check that the support page identifies the same model.
- Check the available documents. Look for a repair guide and parts information, such as an exploded view. Guide availability is model- and market-dependent.
- Confirm the guide covers the work you intend to do. Follow only the model-matched instructions for disassembly, tools, parts and reassembly. If the needed information is absent or unclear, contact Samsung support or a qualified repair technician rather than improvising.
Samsung’s Gulf support page for model WW80FG3M05AW lists a repair guide and exploded view/parts list, with those documents shown as modified July 1, 2025. Samsung Ireland’s page for WW10FG5U34AB lists repair guide entries, including one shown as modified September 18, 2025. What tools and parts do you need?
There is no dependable universal tool list for removing a Samsung washer drum. A surfaced third-party-hosted guide for model WW70T552DAW1S7 mentions a tool for spin-drum disassembly, but that reference does not establish which tool—or kit—fits other models. Use the tool list in the repair guide for your exact washer rather than buying tools based on another model’s procedure.
Parts should also be selected by model and diagnosis. Samsung model pages may provide exploded views and parts lists, which can help identify compatible components, but they do not establish that a particular washer needs a drum or tub assembly, bearing, seal or other repair part. Do not order a part until the model and fault have been confirmed. Samsung’s model support page illustrates how repair documents and parts information may be linked to a specific washer.

Can you remove the drum just to clean the washer?
Usually, routine residue cleaning does not call for physical drum removal. Samsung Canada’s washer-cleaning guidance, last updated July 2, 2026, recommends running the Self Clean or Pure Cycle about once a month on washers that have one. Settings and cycle names vary by model; consult the manual if the cycle is not present. This is Canada-specific guidance, not a claim that every washer sold in every market has the same cycle. Samsung Canada says the cycle usually does not require an additional cleaner. A washer-specific cleaner may help if odor persists, but cleaning products are not a substitute for diagnosing a mechanical problem. If residue or odor remains after using the recommended cycle, consult the manual or model-specific support information before considering disassembly.

- You cannot find a repair guide for the complete model code and market.
- The guide does not cover drum removal or leaves a step unclear.

The available Samsung pages establish that repair documents and parts information can be model-linked; they do not establish a universal fastener order, wiring-disconnection sequence, lifting requirement, safety procedure or reassembly check for an unspecified washer. Those details must come from the official guide matching your complete model code. If that guide is unavailable or the repair exceeds your experience, seek help from Samsung support or a qualified repair technician.
