The exact controls depend on the model: keypad panels and smart-dial panels use different steps, so match the instructions below to your stove’s control panel.
Identify your Samsung control panel
Samsung’s general clock-setting steps apply to most ranges, but button names and sequences vary by model. Look at the panel before starting:
- Clock button with a number pad or directional buttons: use the button-panel procedure.
- Smart dial with a Menu or Options control: use the smart-dial procedure.
- Touchscreen on a built-in wall oven: use the separate wall-oven note below; not every stove has this interface.
If the controls do not match, find the complete model number and follow its manual. Samsung’s general instructions and model caveat are on its clock-setting support page.
Set the clock on a button panel
- Press Clock once. On some models the button is labeled Clock/Setting.
- If prompted to choose AM or PM, press Clock again to select the correct one. Skip this step if there is no AM/PM prompt or the display uses 24-hour time.
- Enter the current hours and minutes using the number pad or directional buttons, depending on your panel.
- Press Clock or START/SET to save.
If you enter the wrong time, press Clear and start again. Do not hold Clock for three seconds unless your model’s instructions say to: Samsung notes that a long press opens the Settings menu on some models.

When the panel has directional buttons
On documented NE63*821*** family panels, press Clock/Setting, use Up/Down to set the hour and minute, then press Clock or START/SET to save. See Samsung’s NE63*821*** support instructions for the model-family steps.
When the panel has a number pad
On documented NX60*851*** family panels, press Clock/Setting. If prompted, press Clock again to select AM or PM, enter the time on the number pad, and press START/SET. Follow the instructions for your exact model if its labels differ.

Set the clock on a Samsung smart-dial range
- If the display is asleep, push or turn the dial to wake the panel.
- Open Menu (the three-horizontal-lines icon), then select Set time.
- Turn the dial to set the current time.
- Push the dial to confirm.
Some documented NE63*871*** family panels use Options rather than Menu: tap Options, select Set time with the dial, adjust the time, then push the dial to confirm. Samsung’s NE63*871*** model-family instructions show this control sequence.
Choose 12-hour or 24-hour format
On smart-dial models that offer the setting, open Menu, select Time format, choose 12hr or 24hr with the dial, then push the dial to save. Samsung says the panel enters Sleep mode after two minutes of inactivity and displays only the time while asleep.

If the clock needs resetting after a power outage
If the displayed time is missing or incorrect after an outage, set it again using the procedure for your panel. Samsung notes that accurate time is also needed for automatic functions such as delayed cooking and Sabbath mode. An incorrect clock display by itself does not establish that an appliance component has failed; reset the clock and consult the model manual if the controls behave differently from its instructions.

Samsung’s clock-setting guidance also covers built-in wall ovens. On touchscreen models, date and time can be set automatically over Wi-Fi through Settings > Date & Time. For manual setup, turn off automatic time first; the interface then allows selection of time zone, date, and time. This touchscreen method is for compatible wall ovens, not a general procedure for every Samsung stove.
