Jim Carrey’s longtime Brentwood home went into contract in December 2024 after its asking price fell from $28.9 million to $19.75 million. A later Realtor.com report put the completed sale at $17 million, though earlier coverage reported a different final figure. The contract-stage asking price was not the sale price.
What happened to Jim Carrey’s Brentwood home?
The property at 615 North Tigertail Road in Los Angeles’s Brentwood neighborhood entered contract in December 2024. Mansion Global reported that it was then listed for $19.75 million. Realtor.com later reported a $17 million final sale price; SFGATE’s 2024 coverage instead reported a sale at $19.8 million. The published reports therefore conflict on the closing figure, and the later Realtor.com figure should be treated as a reported price rather than a verified transaction record.
The buyer’s identity was not disclosed in the sale coverage reviewed. Mansion Global’s contract report, SFGATE’s sale report and Realtor.com’s retrospective describe different stages or figures in the transaction.
How the asking price changed
| Point in timeline | Reported price | What it represents |
|---|---|---|
| 1994 | $3.8 million | Reported purchase price, according to SFGATE; not an independent profit calculation. |
| Early 2023 | $28.9 million | Original reported asking price. |
| May 2024 | $21.9 million | Asking price reported by Realtor.com. |
| September 2024 | $19.75 million | Asking price when the home was reported to have entered contract in December. |
| Later retrospective | $17 million | Realtor.com’s reported final sale price; SFGATE had reported $19.8 million in 2024. |
The reduction from the original $28.9 million ask to the $19.75 million contract-stage ask was $9.15 million—often rounded to about $10 million. These are asking and reported sale prices, not an appraisal of the property’s market value. The price sequence is also covered by Realtor.com and Mansion Global.

What the estate included
Reports describe a roughly 10,954-square-foot, five-bedroom house built in 1951 on about two acres. Listed features included a guest house, an Art Deco-style theater, a circular sunroom, a pool with a waterfall, gardens and a tennis court. Realtor.com also noted a yoga space and wine cellar. Bathroom counts differ among reports, so they are not included here.
Mansion Global reported that the home theater displayed a large painting by Carrey and his Riddler suit. The report said those personal belongings were not included in the home’s price; the sale should not be read as a transfer of the memorabilia.

Why the sale price needs qualification
The coverage distinguishes three different numbers: the original listing price, the price when the property entered contract, and a reported completed-sale price. The latter is inconsistent across the sources reviewed: SFGATE reported $19.8 million, while Realtor.com’s later retrospective says $17 million. Without a definitive transaction record, neither figure should be presented as a universally settled closing price.
