The Titaner TiFractal Vise is a limited-run titanium vise designed to grip irregular shapes with nested, pivoting jaw elements. Its published maximum opening is 100 mm, and its jaws are described as having 16 contact points. Those specifications explain the design, but they do not establish clamping force, damage prevention or suitability for every workpiece. The campaign page does not confirm whether the planned February 2026 shipping began, so current availability remains unverified.

How the TiFractal Vise grips irregular workpieces

Unlike a conventional vise with two flat, opposing jaw faces, the TiFractal uses multiple nested, rotating semicircular grips. As the jaws close, the segments are intended to pivot and meet contours on an irregular object, spreading contact across more points. New Atlas describes three nested grips arranged in four layers, for 16 contact points (New Atlas); Titaner’s campaign FAQ describes the same four-layer, three-group arrangement (Titaner campaign FAQ).

This is a design rationale, not independent proof that the vise will hold every shape securely or prevent surface damage. The reviewed sources provide no measured clamping-force figures or independent performance tests. For delicate, finished or unusually shaped parts, assess the material, contact area and setup rather than assuming the jaw design eliminates marking or slipping.

Reversing the jaws

New Atlas reports that the jaws can be reversed to clamp with their flat sides or to grip hollow items internally. The sources do not give tested examples, compatible internal dimensions or load limits for these arrangements, so treat them as stated capabilities and confirm fit for the particular workpiece.

Published specifications and advertised features

Feature What the sources state
Maximum opening 100 mm (about 3.9 inches), stated by Titaner and reported by New Atlas. This is an opening specification, not a guarantee that every object within that width can be clamped securely.
Jaw design Four layers in three groups, with 16 contact points, according to Titaner’s FAQ and New Atlas.
Material GR5 titanium, according to the Titaner campaign page.
Torque limiting Advertised by Titaner and reported by New Atlas; no measured force or independent test result is supplied.
Angle adjustment An optional ball-head base is described as allowing the vise to rotate and lock at an angle. Check whether a base is included in any offer.
Production limit 1,000 pieces, a campaign/creator claim reported by New Atlas and the campaign FAQ.

The 100 mm figure is useful for an initial size check, but jaw geometry, workpiece shape and the chosen clamping orientation also matter. The sources do not establish a verified warranty or replacement-parts policy.

What to check before choosing one

For construction, fabrication or repair work, compare the TiFractal with a conventional vise based on the job—not just the material or number of jaw contact points. A standard straight-jaw vise may be the simpler fit for regular stock; the TiFractal’s distinguishing feature is its articulated contact with irregular workpieces.
