The Rubishack is a one-off promotional build, not a tiny house you can order. Built on a heavily modified truck base, it pairs a first-generation Cummins engine with four bolt-on Rubitracks tracks. New Atlas describes it as able to handle rivers, snow, mud and beach terrain—but those are feature descriptions, not independently measured capabilities or a guarantee of safe travel in every condition.
What the Rubishack is—and is not
New Atlas’s August 27, 2024 feature presents the Rubishack as a promotional tool created by Canadian company Rubitracks, rather than a serious attempt at a tiny house for sale. Its name and striking appearance may suggest a production off-road camper, but the source does not say that the complete vehicle is available to buy.
The build combines a heavily modified truck base and first-generation Cummins engine with four bolt-on tracks made by Rubitracks. The engine had reportedly driven around 240,000 km (almost 150,000 miles), according to New Atlas; that is a figure reported for this build, not independently verified vehicle history.
Dimensions and documented cabin layout
New Atlas reports that the Rubishack measures 16 ft (4.8 m) long and 7 ft (2.1 m) wide. Its cabin has wood construction, generous glazing and a metal roof. Inside, the feature documents a bed in front of the driving position and a seating area with a table behind the driver.

The driver and passenger seats came from a 1970s motorhome and swivel 360 degrees, according to the feature. These details describe the photographed build; they do not establish its sleeping capacity, payload, or suitability for a particular trip.
What “laughs at whatever nature throws at it” means
The headline is colorful framing, not a technical rating. New Atlas describes the vehicle as capable of handling rivers, snow, mud and beach terrain, but the feature does not provide independent testing, operating limits or safety findings for those environments. It also does not establish speed, fuel use, load capacity or comparative safety.

For a real off-road vehicle or conversion, terrain claims need to be matched to the specific vehicle, track system, conditions and operator guidance. The Rubishack feature alone is not a basis for assuming that a tracked build can safely cross any river, travel in all weather or tackle every surface.

Rubitracks’ official site presents snow and UTV track systems and mentions adapters and mounting kits for side-by-side vehicles. It states that its products have a one-year limited manufacturer’s warranty, excluding wear items. That information concerns the company’s track products; it does not establish that a particular vehicle is compatible, that the Rubishack is for sale, or that the warranty covers a custom build.
