Honda announced two new Miimo robotic mowers, the 1500i and 2200i, on 8 October 2025, with European sales planned from spring 2026. The standout feature is an ultrasonic obstacle sensor on the 2200i that Stuff reported was derived from a Honda car’s reversing sensor. Both models are described as wireless, but Honda’s published specifications were provisional; local availability and final prices need confirmation.

What’s new about the next-generation Miimo?

The Miimo 1500i and 2200i are Honda’s announced wireless robotic mowers. Honda’s release describes the new models and planned European launch, while Stuff’s report from the Frankfurt launch event supplies additional detail on their navigation and sensing technology.

The car connection is specific: Stuff reported that the ultrasonic sensor used on the 2200i comes from a reversing sensor in a Honda road car. It can detect an obstacle before the mower touches it. Honda’s announcement confirms ultrasonic sensors on the 2200i, but does not describe their automotive origin.

Does the Miimo need a boundary wire?

Honda presents the 1500i and 2200i as wireless models. Stuff reported that the mowers use satellite signals to map a lawn and have no antennae or SIM cards, and that they incur no fees. Those details come from the event report; Honda’s announcement confirms the wireless model designation but does not enumerate the satellite, hardware or fee arrangements. The announcement’s specifications list area-wire type as “-” for the 1500i and identify the 2200i as wireless.

Which Miimo has ultrasonic sensors?

Honda lists ultrasonic sensors for the Miimo 2200i. Its release lists 360° bump detection for both models, but does not list ultrasonic sensing for the 1500i. Stuff’s event report likewise distinguishes the 1500i’s bump detection from the ultrasonic sensors shown on the other displayed mowers. Treat the ultrasonic feature as a 2200i specification unless Honda’s final local specification sheet says otherwise.

When will the new Honda Miimo be available, and what will it cost?

Honda announced the models on 8 October 2025 and planned European sales from spring 2026. That launch plan does not establish current availability in a particular country. As of its 27 October 2025 report, Stuff said prices had not been announced and that sales would be through dealers, with five-year guarantees. Those are event-report details from 2025, not verified current price, sales-channel or warranty terms; check with Honda or a local dealer for the market where you intend to buy.

Don’t confuse the 1500i with the existing Miimo 1500

Honda UK’s store lists an existing product named Miimo 1500, described as suitable for lawns up to 1,500 m², with Bluetooth app control, navigation and 360° safety sensors. It is a distinct product from the announced Miimo 1500i; a similar name and area rating do not make their specifications interchangeable. See Honda Power Products UK’s Miimo 1500 listing.

ECOVACS Goat A2000 LiDAR PRO Robot Lawn Mower, Dual LiDAR Navigation
  • Wire-Free Robotic Lawn Mower with LiDAR Navigation - GOAT A2000 LiDAR PRO is a wire-free robotic lawn mower that requires no perimeter wire or RTK antenna. • High-Power 32V Platform for Thick Grass - Designed for American lawns with Bermuda, Zoysia, Fescue, and St. Augustine grass. The 32V motor and dual-blade disc system provide stronger cutting torque and faster blade rotation, helping this robotic mower handle dense, fast-growing grass and uneven terrain.*Compared to previous GOAT models, based on ECOVACS lab testing.
  • Fast Charging Robotic Mower for Medium to Large Yards - Equipped with a durable 3.0Ah battery and 113.4W fast charging, this robot lawn mower recharges in about 50 minutes. Ideal for homeowners looking for automated lawn care with minimal downtime and consistent scheduled mowing performance.
  • Smart App-Controlled Lawn Mower with Custom Zones - Control your smart lawn mower through the ECOVACS app. Create multiple mowing zones, set no-go areas, adjust cutting height and speed, define travel paths between zones, and customize mowing schedules. Designed for complex yard layouts and personalized lawn care.

Honda’s earlier UK brochure covers legacy models with stated capacities from 400 m² to 4,000 m², but those figures and features belong to that older range, not the 1500i or 2200i. Owners of older HRM310 or HRM520 models in the US can find manuals through American Honda’s Miimo owner-manual page, which says its information applies to US products.
