The HEST Foamy Camp Chair is a folding camp chair built around a removable cushion that supports both the seat and back. HEST lists an aluminum-alloy frame, two cup holders, EasyRise armrests and an included carry bag; REI lists unfolded dimensions of 35 × 26 × 24 inches, and HEST advertises a 500 lb weight capacity. These are published specifications and product descriptions, not independent test results.
What is the HEST Foamy Camp Chair?
It is a complete folding chair, rather than a cushion alone. HEST describes its shape as Adirondack-inspired and pairs the frame with a removable, two-layer memory-foam cushion. The cover is described as dirt- and water-resistant. HEST also lists EasyRise armrests, two cup holders and a carry bag.
HEST calls it “the most comfortable, durable, and packable camp chair around the campfire.” That is the manufacturer’s marketing claim; the available product specifications do not establish an independent comfort, durability or portability comparison.

What are the HEST Foamy Camp Chair dimensions and weight limit?
| Specification | Published information |
|---|---|
| Unfolded dimensions | 35 × 26 × 24 inches, listed by REI |
| Weight capacity | 500 lb, advertised by HEST and repeated by REI |
| Chair weight | Not stated in the cited HEST and REI product information |
| Packed dimensions | Not stated in the cited HEST and REI product information |
Use the capacity and dimensions as published specifications, not as independently verified test findings. HEST says the chair fits into its included carry bag, but the cited pages do not give a packed-size figure. Check whether the unfolded footprint and your available transport space suit your setup before buying. REI’s chair listing provides the dimensions and capacity.
Can you remove the cushion and use it separately?
Yes. HEST describes the chair’s two-layer cushion as removable and says it can be used separately as a travel seat pad. This gives the product some flexibility when you want cushioning away from the chair frame.

What should you consider before buying?
- Whether you need a complete chair: The Foamy Camp Chair combines frame, back-and-seat cushioning, armrests and cup holders. If you already have a suitable chair and mainly want padding, consider whether the separate cushion better fits your needs.
- Carrying and storage: An included carry bag is documented, but the cited product information does not state chair weight or packed dimensions. Those missing figures make it difficult to compare transport burden directly with another chair.
- Price and availability: HEST’s furniture collection showed a $329 listing, while the indexed dedicated product page showed “sold out.” Listings and inventory can change or differ by page and timing, so check the live HEST furniture collection and REI listing before purchasing. Neither listed price nor stock status should be treated as guaranteed.
- What comparisons can establish: The cushion coverage, published dimensions and stated capacity are useful decision points, but the cited sources do not provide comparable chair weights or independent comfort testing. A measured portability or comfort winner cannot be determined from those details.
