What is the Heirloom Cradle with Storage Box plan?
This is a specific WOOD Magazine woodworking project, rather than a generic cradle design. The publisher describes it as a knockdown cradle and says the companion box is intended for travel or storage. “Knockdown” indicates that the cradle is designed to come apart, but the public listing does not explain its joinery or assembly sequence. How large are the cradle and storage box?
WOOD Magazine lists the cradle at 31 inches long, 24 inches wide, and 22 inches high. The companion storage box is listed at 32 × 18 × 5 inches. These are the publisher’s published project dimensions, not a guarantee of finished measurements for every build.
WoodworkersWorkshop gives different figures: 31 × 24.5 × 21.25 inches for the cradle and 32 × 16 × 4.75 inches for the box. What materials, tools, and instructions are listed?
The reseller describes an example built with red oak, red oak plywood, and a small amount of walnut, while noting that builders may select other wood. It says the plan includes a complete materials and supplies list, building instructions, and finishing guidelines. The public listing does not show the quantities, hardware specifications, exact joinery, or finishing products, so those details should be confirmed in the plan rather than assumed.

Does the listing establish that the cradle is safe for infant sleep?
No. The publisher and reseller listings reviewed do not provide safety testing, certification, standards compliance, or infant safe-sleep guidance. The project’s name and product description are not evidence of certification or suitability for infant sleep.
