The Viperade VAK6 is a compact multitool built around a folding knife, a small flashlight and an electric-arc ignitor. An optional hand-crank generator is intended to recharge it. Those features were described during a 2025 Kickstarter campaign; the campaign-era prices and promotion do not establish what is available today.
What the Viperade VAK6 includes
New Atlas described the VAK6 in a February 15, 2025 report as an aluminum-bodied tool with three integrated functions. The hand-crank generator is an optional accessory, rather than a fourth built-in function.
- Folding knife: Reported as an 82 mm (3.2 in) 5Cr15MoV stainless-steel blade with a locking mechanism, straight and serrated edges, and a black stonewash finish.
- Flashlight: Rated at 38 lumens in the product information relayed by New Atlas, with multiple modes.
- Pulse ignitor: Produces a small electric arc for starting fires.
- Optional crank generator: A separate accessory described as a way to recharge the VAK6 and charge other devices, including smartphones.
The same report says the tool and generator are rated IPX6 water-resistant and describes rubber cases with belt clips. These are reported specifications, not independent test findings or a basis for using the tool in hazardous conditions. New Atlas’s VAK6 report
What the battery and crank claims mean
New Atlas relayed the following performance figures from Viperade or the product’s designers. They are claims, not results of independent testing:

- EDC Folding Pocket Knife: The blade is crafted from high-strength 5Cr15MoV steel with a black stonewash finish, hardness and sharpness; The safety lock design prevents accidental closure while using the knife, ensuring safe operation
- Small Handheld Flashlight: This compact LED flashlight provides 38 lumens of steady illumination for approximately 120 minutes on a full charge; It features a convenient Type-C charging port and a charging indicator for easy charging
- Pulse Ignition Design: Engineered for harsh environments, it provides approximately 100 ignitions on a fully charge; To prevent accidental activation, be sure to lock the cover ring after ignition
- One USB charge is said to provide up to 120 minutes of light. New Atlas notes that this presumably refers to the Low setting.
- A charge is said to provide about 100 ignitions, each lasting eight seconds.
- One minute of cranking at roughly 120–180 rpm is said to provide approximately eight minutes of light or three ignitions.
These figures describe different uses and should not be treated as a combined runtime guarantee. The report does not establish independent performance, real-world output under particular conditions, or how long the crank generator takes to recharge the tool fully.
Kickstarter history and current availability
The VAK6 was promoted on Kickstarter in February and March 2025. New Atlas reported campaign pledges of US$29 for the VAK6 and US$39 for a bundle with the generator, with planned retail prices of US$39.90 and US$54.90. Those are historical campaign-era figures, not current prices or evidence of an active listing. New Atlas

Who might find the design useful
The VAK6’s appeal is its combination of a blade, light and arc ignitor in one tool, with the option of adding a crank-powered charging accessory. That can suit someone interested in consolidating several small functions, but the available product information does not establish comparative reliability or show how well the tool performs in field use. Treat its runtime, ignition-count and water-resistance figures as manufacturer-reported specifications rather than verified outcomes.
