- Materials and cleaning: Construction differs by model, and dishwasher-safe care claims apply only to the products whose listings state them.
- Storage footprint: Check the listed dimensions against your drawer or utensil organizer.
The product descriptions below establish features, not comparative performance. They do not show that one model cuts more evenly or lasts longer than another.

Which cuts do you need?
For slices and wedges
The Williams Sonoma model has separate grids for round or oval slices and wedges, so it offers two straightforward formats. That may suit cooks who want both conventional slices and wedge-shaped pieces without a longer list of cutting options.
For several cut shapes
Sur La Table describes its 4-in-1 model as making rounds, ovals, wedges or matchsticks. WMF describes a different approach: changing how the egg is placed produces long discs, short strips or cubed strips. These are distinct feature sets, so choose based on the shapes you expect to use rather than the number in a product name.

For an added cracking and peeling function
Dreamfarm’s Eggler combines cracking, peeling and slicing in one tool. Its listing showed it unavailable or out of stock at retrieval, so treat it as a design option rather than assuming it can currently be purchased.
Will it make even pieces for egg salad?
Williams Sonoma says its straight-down grid design is intended to create uniform portions, and lists egg salad among the tool’s uses. The product page is a feature description, not an independent test of slice consistency. For egg salad, the grid can provide cut pieces, but the sources do not establish that any one of these models produces more even results than the others.

How to use an egg slicer
- Hard-cook the egg and peel it.
- Place the peeled egg in the slicer. Williams Sonoma’s instructions specify positioning it in the tool before using the grid.
- Press the grid straight down through the egg. For a model with multiple grids or orientations, select the desired cut first and follow that product’s instructions.
The cited product instructions address hard-cooked eggs; they do not establish use with raw or unpeeled eggs.
Is an egg slicer dishwasher safe?
Williams Sonoma, Sur La Table, Dreamfarm and WMF each state dishwasher-safe care for the specific models listed above. Do not extend that claim to other slicers: check the care instructions for the exact product you buy.

How much drawer space will it take?
Among the products with listed dimensions, Sur La Table gives the smallest stated footprint: 4.5 × 3.75 × 1.25 inches. Williams Sonoma lists 5.5 × 4.25 × 2.75 inches, while Dreamfarm gives 5.9 × 2.8 inches. These measurements come from different product listings, so compare them with your available storage space and check the product page for any updated specification. WMF’s cited page does not state dimensions.
