Magnifica covers several generations and configurations, so button sequences, indicator meanings, grinder adjustments, and cleaning procedures are not universal. Find your model in De’Longhi’s manuals index and follow its own troubleshooting guidance.
Before troubleshooting, identify your Magnifica model
The Magnifica family includes lines such as Magnifica Duo, Evo, Evo Next, Plus, S, S Smart, and Start. Controls and maintenance differ across models. Use the manual and support page for the exact model rather than applying a sequence or setting from another Magnifica.
- Check the rating label on the machine for its model number.
- Look up that number in the official manuals index and open the matching manual or product support page.
- Match your symptom to the model’s troubleshooting instructions before changing settings or starting a maintenance cycle.
The coffee is weak, slow, or delivered a drop at a time
Weak coffee and slow dispensing are different symptoms, so check the model’s instructions for each rather than assuming one cause. If the manual points to the grinder, use its coffee-mill adjustment procedure. De’Longhi provides grinder-adjustment guidance for Magnifica S, but that does not establish a universal adjustment or direction for the wider family. Avoid making repeated, large grinder changes based on advice for another model.
If the exact-model guide recommends cleaning or descaling, follow its procedure and any specified rinse steps. De’Longhi’s Magnifica S support page and Magnifica Start support page provide model-specific maintenance guidance.

The coffee is not hot enough
De’Longhi lists “The coffee is not hot” among the Help Center topics for the Magnifica ESAM0411X and ESAM4200. That topic listing does not establish one cause or a reliable fix for every Magnifica. Open the troubleshooting guidance for your model and use only the checks it specifies.
Coffee does not come out of one of the spouts
This symptom appears in De’Longhi’s Help Center topics for the ESAM0411X. Follow the cleaning and troubleshooting steps in the exact model’s manual; a symptom description alone is not enough to identify the cause or justify taking the machine apart.

The descaling light won’t turn off, or lights are flashing or steadily on
De’Longhi lists both descaling-light problems and flashing or steady lights among the ESAM4200 Help Center topics. Check the indicator instructions for your exact model. If you have started a descaling cycle, complete it as directed, including any required rinse steps. Button combinations and light meanings can differ, so do not use a sequence from another Magnifica.
For descaling, use a coffee-machine descaler compatible with your machine and follow its model-specific instructions. De’Longhi’s Magnifica Evo support page includes its own maintenance and cleaning guidance; the matching manual should control the cycle for your particular machine.

The milk or cappuccino system needs cleaning
Choose the instructions for the milk system fitted to your machine. Magnifica S support covers cleaning the cappuccino maker, while Magnifica Evo guidance includes deep cleaning for the LatteCrema Hot carafe. These are different configurations, so do not assume the parts or cleaning steps are interchangeable. Find the appropriate procedure on the Magnifica S support page or Magnifica Evo support page.

If the issue remains after the model’s recommended user-level checks, or the next step would require internal or electrical repair, stop and contact De’Longhi support or an authorized service center. The manuals index provides routes to product information, and De’Longhi’s support center can direct you to help, spare parts, or service options. Avoid disassembling the machine based only on a symptom list.
