Yes—Tide PODS can be used in most Samsung washers when the package identifies them as HE-compatible. Put a pod in the empty washer drum or tub before adding laundry, never in the detergent drawer. The key exception is the upper washer of a Samsung Flex Wash: Samsung says that compartment is too small for pods to work correctly.
How to use a pod in your Samsung washer
- Check the package for an HE (High Efficiency) label. Samsung says its washers require HE detergent.
- Place the pod in the empty tub or drum before loading clothes. Do not put it in the detergent drawer.
- Add laundry without overfilling the drum. Tide says overloading can prevent a pod from dissolving properly.
- Select a cycle appropriate for the load and follow garment care labels and the pod package directions.
These instructions reflect Samsung US support and Tide’s US product guidance. Check your washer’s manual if its detergent system or controls differ.

How many Tide PODS should you use?
Tide’s US guide recommends one pod for a small load, two for a standard load, and three for a large load. Those are Tide’s directions for its products, not a universal dose for every brand or formulation; check the package for the pods you own.
What if a pod does not dissolve?
Tide says residue can result when a pod is not fully submerged. Put the pod in first, before the laundry, and avoid overloading the washer so water can reach it. Tide says its pods are formulated for cold water and can be used at any temperature, but choose the cycle according to the fabric care label and your washer’s instructions.

Why the detergent drawer is the wrong place
Samsung directs users to put pods directly in the tub or drum. Liquid and powder detergent go in the designated detergent compartment instead. The pod’s packaging and your model’s manual should guide any product-specific or model-specific differences.
