If you specifically want a square-basket air fryer, the clearest verified match here is the UK-market Ninja Air Fryer MAX 6.2L AF170UK: its manufacturer explicitly describes a square drawer. COSORI Iconic and Instant Vortex Slim offer useful capacity or footprint comparisons, but their official product pages do not confirm square baskets, so they are alternatives—not verified square-basket picks.
Best verified square-basket air fryer
Ninja Air Fryer MAX 6.2L AF170UK
SharkNinja UK lists the AF170UK as a 6.2L air fryer with a dishwasher-safe square drawer and adjustable crisper plate. It has four listed functions: Air Fry, Roast, Dehydrate and Reheat. That makes it the strongest documented choice for shoppers whose priority is a square basket, rather than simply a large stated capacity. See the official AF170UK product listing for the current specification.
The manufacturer says the drawer can fit up to four chicken breasts and describes the appliance as suitable for households of one to four. Treat those as manufacturer estimates: actual batch size depends on the food and portion dimensions, and crowding can affect how well food cooks. Check the flat cooking area and depth against the meals you intend to make, not just the litre figure.
SharkNinja lists power at 2,000 W and weight at 5.2 kg. Its page gives exterior dimensions in two different formats: 28.7 × 37.9 × 30.61 cm in one specification and H 30.5 × W 28 × D 36 cm in a feature section. Because those presentations differ, confirm the exact dimensions and required clearance on the current listing or manual before deciding it will fit your counter.

How to choose a square-basket air fryer
Check the food-facing area, not only capacity
A litre or quart rating describes volume, but it does not tell you how much food can sit in a single layer. Base area, corners and depth determine what fits. As Tom’s Guide notes in its 2026 air-fryer buying guidance, basket shape can matter alongside nominal capacity. Think about the foods you cook most: a broad, flat area may matter more for pieces that need space than extra depth does.
Match batch size to your household
Use serving and fit claims as starting points rather than guarantees. Compare the maker’s stated capacity with your usual portions and the size of the food itself. A basket packed beyond a single layer may not deliver the result you expect; plan for batches if your normal meal will not fit with room around the food.

Measure the available space and consult the precise model listing and manual for appliance dimensions and required clearance. Regional versions can differ in voltage, accessories, warranty and availability. The AF170UK is a UK model, so shoppers elsewhere should verify that the exact model is sold for their market and is compatible with local electrical requirements.
Pay for functions and cleaning features you will use
Compare cooking modes against your routine: the three products listed here have different function sets. Also check whether both the basket and crisper plate are dishwasher-safe and what comes in the box for the exact SKU. Warranty terms and included components can vary by model and market; check the current official listing rather than assuming another region’s terms apply.

What to verify before buying
- That the manufacturer explicitly identifies the basket or drawer as square if basket shape is essential to your choice.
- The basket’s usable base area and depth against the food and portions you plan to cook.
- Exact exterior dimensions, countertop clearance and installation requirements in the model’s manual.
- Local voltage, availability, included accessories and warranty for your region.
- Cleaning guidance and any replacement-part compatibility for the exact model number.
