Bunnings Warehouse Cannington was part of a temporary 2024 promotion that turned selected stores into Hammerbarn, the fictional hardware store from Bluey. It was a limited-time activation—not a permanent change to the store’s name. The exact dates and local schedule for Cannington are not confirmed in the available official information.
Did Bunnings Cannington really become Hammerbarn?
Yes, as a temporary promotional transformation. Bunnings’ Community & Sustainability Report 2024 says that in February 2024 the retailer worked with BBC Studios to temporarily convert seven sites across Australia and New Zealand into Hammerbarn stores. The report does not name the seven locations individually, so it does not independently confirm Cannington’s participation in the excerpt available; the Cannington connection is reflected in the event’s local framing.
Hammerbarn is the fictional hardware-store setting featured in Season 2 of Bluey. The real-world treatment borrowed that identity for a campaign; it did not establish a new ongoing name for Bunnings Warehouse Cannington.
When did the Cannington conversion happen?
The broader seven-site activation took place in February 2024, according to Bunnings’ report. An exact start date, end date or event timetable for Cannington is not confirmed in the official source text available. The broader campaign window should not be treated as a verified local schedule.

What was part of the Hammerbarn experience?
The official Bluey event page describes the wider activation as including free Bluey-themed D.I.Y. workshops and an in-store scavenger hunt. It also associates the campaign with Hammerbarn merchandise such as gnomes and rugs. Those descriptions cover the broader promotion; they do not confirm that every activity or product was available at Cannington specifically.
Can you still buy the Hammerbarn merchandise?
Bunnings’ Hammerbarn campaign FAQ described the range as available in Australia and New Zealand for a limited time and while stocks lasted, with gnomes limited in stock. That campaign information does not establish current inventory or whether particular items remain available. Treat the gnomes, rugs and other branded goods as products associated with the promotion, not as items guaranteed to be on sale now.

No. Bunnings separately announced another set of Bluey activities and merchandise in 2025 in “Aussies to step into Bluey’s world at Bunnings”, dated 29 July 2025. That later announcement is distinct from the February 2024 Hammerbarn conversions and does not establish that Cannington kept the Hammerbarn name or that 2024 merchandise is available now.
