Start by identifying the complete model number and series of your Bryant Evolution Connex control, then match its manual before trying model-specific steps. Series A and Series B/C have distinct documentation and software instructions. To find the software version, Bryant’s downloads page gives this path: Menu → down arrow → Service → model/serial numbers → wall control. Use the manual and software instructions for that exact control; do not assume steps or software are interchangeable across series. Bryant lists the Evolution Connex control, and its downloads page provides the series-specific materials.

Reconnect a Connex thermostat to Wi-Fi

For Wi-Fi setup trouble, check that you have the correct home network name (SSID) and password or passkey, then follow the on-screen setup sequence. Menu wording can vary by control series, so confirm it against the matching manual.

  1. On the control, open Menu → Down Arrow → Wireless.
  2. Enable Wi-Fi, then choose Setup a Wi-Fi Connection.
  3. Scan for available access points and select your home network.
  4. Review the security settings and enter the network credential to finish setup.
  5. Check connection status for both Wi-Fi and server connection. A connected Wi-Fi status alone does not confirm that the control is communicating with the server.

Bryant’s Connex help page provides the setup path; the owner manual says the network SSID and password/passkey are needed. The manual directs owners who need Wi-Fi setup or connection assistance to Bryant support.

Correct the time after an update

If the clock changed after a software upgrade, check the time zone before changing other settings. Bryant notes that upgrades can add automatic internet time synchronization, and a wrong selected time zone can make the displayed time incorrect.

Recover a control that misbehaves after a software download

Bryant’s published recovery sequence starts with a power cycle of the wall control. If that does not resolve the issue, follow the manufacturer’s manual software-loading process for your exact series, then contact Bryant or your dealer if the control still fails.

Understand “System Check in Progress” on a Series B/C control

On a control that matches the Series B/C owner manual, “System Check in Progress” can be a normal indication during the documented 1 p.m. filter check. The manual also says it can appear after changing from Off to Auto, Heat, Cool, or Fan Only; it describes these cases as part of the system’s design. Do not apply this explanation to a different series without checking its manual.

For more context about what the system is doing, use the manual’s Operating Status and Temperature Control Status screens to inspect the current equipment stage, zone temperatures, and set points. See Bryant’s owner manual for the matching Series B/C control.

When troubleshooting does not resolve the problem

The available Bryant instructions support checks for wireless setup, time-zone settings, post-download recovery, and the specific Series B/C status above. They do not establish a universal diagnosis for unspecified heating or cooling failures or a generic fault-code guide. If the system still has an equipment or control problem, contact Bryant support or your dealer and provide the complete control model, series, software version, displayed message, and what you have already tried.

If you are considering a replacement, Bryant currently lists the black Evolution Connex System Control SYSTXBBECC01-C as Wi-Fi enabled and compatible with Evolution systems. The product page describes zoning capability up to eight zones and says the remote room sensor application is available only with zoning control. These are product-page specifications, not proof that this control replaces another model in a particular installation. Match the complete existing model and have a Bryant dealer confirm compatibility before buying or installing a replacement. See Bryant’s product page.
