MeshHub Smart Hubs: Infrared, RF and Mood Lighting Are Split Across Models

MeshHub’s published materials split infrared/RF control and adjustable mood lighting across different products. Here’s what the Hub IRF, Hub IR Pro and Orbit Smart pages actually document.

MeshHub’s published materials do not confirm one hub that combines mood lighting, infrared and dual-frequency radio control. The Linkoze Hub IRF manual documents infrared plus 315 MHz and 433 MHz radio-frequency control; a separate Hub IR Pro manual describes infrared learning and adjustable light color, but does not list RF. Orbit Smart separately describes RGB lighting schedules and multi-device scenes. Check the exact model and signal requirements before choosing a hub.

Which MeshHub model has which features?

Product or service Documented features What the materials do not establish
Linkoze Hub IRF 38 kHz infrared, 315 MHz and 433 MHz RF, app control, timers and schedules, and cloud-based smart-scene participation. It uses 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi. Official Hub IRF manual Universal compatibility with IR or RF remotes, specific RF modulation or protocols, RF range, or control through obstructions.
Hub IR Pro Infrared learning, timers, adjustable color for the hub’s own light, and cloud-based smart-scene participation. It uses 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi. Official Hub IR Pro manual 315 MHz or 433 MHz RF support; those bands are not listed in its manual.
Orbit Smart app The page describes RGB light color schedules, multi-device scenes and motion-sensor automation. Orbit Smart page Specific compatible brands, products or third-party protocols. Its examples are vendor descriptions, not independent compatibility tests.

The available materials do not identify the retail SKU intended by the combined-feature claim. Treat lighting, IR and RF as model-specific features unless a seller or manufacturer confirms them for the exact device you are considering.

What the Hub IRF can control—and what to check

The Hub IRF is the documented option for app-based control of traditional appliances that use infrared or the listed 315 MHz or 433 MHz RF bands. The manufacturer describes using it to simulate signals from traditional remotes, as well as setting timers and schedules for non-smart electrical appliances and including the device in cloud-based scenes.

Frequency alone does not guarantee that a particular remote or appliance will work. The manual does not specify RF protocols or modulation, and it does not claim universal compatibility. Before buying, confirm that your appliance’s remote uses a supported signal and that the exact signal can be learned or otherwise supported by the hub.

Infrared placement and stated range

The Hub IRF manual specifies 38 kHz infrared, a 180-degree hemispherical infrared direction and a stated control distance of less than 8 m (26 ft). It cautions that infrared strength can weaken beyond 8 m (26 ft), causing commands to fail. Infrared is line-of-sight dependent in ordinary use, so place the hub where its signal can reach the appliance; the manual does not establish operation through obstructions. The manual gives no RF control range, so do not apply the infrared distance to RF devices.

Other published Hub IRF specifications

  • Wi-Fi: IEEE 802.11 b/g/n at 2.4 GHz.
  • Power input: 5 V/1 A; charging connection: USB Type-C. The manual does not establish whether a power supply is included.
  • Dimensions: 68 × 69 × 25 mm; weight: 36 g.

What the Hub IR Pro adds

The separate Hub IR Pro manual describes learning infrared signals for controlling electrical appliances, timers, smart-scene participation and adjustment of the hub’s own light color for atmosphere. Its listed specifications include 38 kHz infrared, 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi, USB Type-C and 5 V/1 A input, plus a 180-degree hemispherical infrared direction and a stated distance below 8 m (26 ft). Those are manufacturer-stated specifications, not independent performance results.

Smart Bluetooth SIG Mesh Wireless Hub Gateway, 2.4Ghz WiFi Only, Compatible with Alexa, Google Home, IFTTT, Works with Tuya/Smartlife APP for Home Automation Bluetooth Mesh Devices
  • [Note] The Bluetooth wireless gateway is powered by USB cable and only supports tuya bluetooth mesh devices. When configuring the network, connect your phone to Wifi and make sure that your phone and the Smart Gateway are on the same Wifi network, which only supports 2.4GHz Wifi, not 5GHz Wifi. IFTTT is also supported.
  • [Intelligent Solutions] Bluetooth MESH(SIG) wireless gateway consists of a highly integrated wireless wifi module, a low power wireless bluetooth module and a motherboard. Through tuya smart/smartlife APP, users can realize device add, device reset, third party control and Bluetooth group control to meet the smart home and other applications.
  • [Core Information] Product Adaptation: Bluetooth mesh devices. Communication Capability: Wifi+Bluetooth dual protocol. Number of Nodes: Up to 128 Bluetooth mesh sub-devices, typically 50+. Communication Distance (line-of-sight): Indoor 35m, Outdoor 200m+. Penetration Ability: Generally passes through two walls. Development Mode: Development-free.
  • [One-key Networking] When the sub-device is in the state of pending network allocation, it can support multiple sub-devices to enter the network at the same time, no need to add sub-devices one by one, and it can also support adding sub-devices under no network environment.
  • [Fast Control of Scene/Multicast] Support large-scale group network broadcasting under normal operation, more than 100+ devices are online at the same time, work stably, the device can support local scene linkage, and support cross-gateway linkage under networking state.

The manual does not list 315 MHz or 433 MHz RF support. If controlling an RF remote is essential, do not assume the IR Pro’s lighting feature means it also has the Hub IRF’s radio capabilities.

How setup and scenes are described

Both product manuals direct users to Smart Life and describe adding the device through an existing hub’s device-search page. The Hub IRF manual says to hold reset for 10 seconds until the blue LED flashes; the Hub IR Pro manual says to hold reset for 10 seconds until the green LED flashes. Follow the instructions for the exact model rather than treating the indicators as interchangeable.

Orbit Smart separately presents RGB schedules and scenes that activate multiple devices, including an illustrated air conditioner, TV and room lighting, as well as motion-sensor automation. These descriptions do not establish that every pictured device or third-party product is compatible.

The Hub IRF manual also says that changing the Wi-Fi password requires resetting and reconnecting the device. Because the described setup and scenes depend on Smart Life and cloud services, check that this app and service arrangement meets your needs before purchase and use.

How to choose the right feature set

  1. Identify the signal. Determine whether the appliance uses infrared or RF, and for RF verify the exact band and compatibility. The Hub IRF lists 315 MHz and 433 MHz, but its manual does not specify RF protocols. The IR Pro manual lists no RF bands.
  2. Check placement. For infrared, account for the Hub IRF’s manufacturer-stated distance below 8 m (26 ft) and its placement needs. Do not infer an RF range from that figure.
  3. Separate remote control from ambient lighting. The IR Pro manual documents adjustment of its own light color. Orbit Smart describes RGB lighting schedules. Neither fact establishes that the Hub IRF has the IR Pro’s adjustable light feature.
  4. Confirm app and service dependencies. The manuals describe Smart Life setup and cloud-based scenes; check that these dependencies fit your setup.
  5. Verify the exact model. The published pages do not identify the retail SKU behind the combined-feature wording. Ask the seller or manufacturer to confirm every required feature for the model being sold.

What is not established

The cited official materials provide manufacturer descriptions and specifications, not independent performance tests, reliability measurements or user-satisfaction data. They also do not establish price, stock, region-specific availability, universal device compatibility or the exact retail SKU meant by the combined claim. Treat the listed distances and capabilities as the manufacturers’ published claims, not independent validation.
