Consider a long-slot toaster for longer slices

Check placement and use in the model manual
Clearance and operating instructions can differ by model. For the Hamilton Beach 22998, consult the model-specific use-and-care manual before setting it up, operating it or cleaning it. For any other toaster, use that model’s own manual rather than assuming the 22998 instructions apply.
