Before choosing, measure each device and compare it with the stand’s usable interior dimensions—not just its outside width—and allow space for cables and the console’s required orientation.
Choose a stand format that fits your setup
These examples illustrate different furniture formats, not a tested ranking. Product specifications below come from the manufacturer or retailer pages accessed in 2026; they are not independent performance tests. Check the current listing for availability and confirm the exact dimensions and load limits before buying.

For a large collection: start with compartment dimensions
A wide cabinet can provide separate storage for consoles and other AV gear, but a wide exterior does not guarantee a large usable opening. BDI publishes interior measurements for the Corridor 8179, making it possible to compare specific bays with equipment dimensions. The same kind of internal measurement is not stated for every example, so ask the seller or consult the product documentation when a console is close to the listed exterior dimensions.
For concealed storage: look at the door and airflow design
The Dorel NTense Glitch combines open shelving with a ventilated sliding metal door. Dorel describes the door as allowing air circulation; that is a manufacturer claim, not an independent thermal test. Check the console maker’s placement guidance and do not assume a ventilated door makes every enclosed placement suitable.

For a smaller footprint: consider a vertical rack
The DEXSO listing gives a 17.6-inch width and 11-inch depth, with four tiers. That arrangement can place devices above one another rather than across a wide cabinet. Compare each shelf’s usable width and depth with the equipment, and plan how power and signal cables will reach the devices.
For open access and reconfiguration: consider wire shelving
The Shelving Inc. stand has adjustable wire shelves and J-hooks for accessories. Open shelving makes devices and connections easier to reach, but it leaves equipment and cables visible. Its stated 800 lb-per-shelf capacity applies to evenly distributed weight, as specified by Shelving Inc.; do not treat that figure as directly comparable to other products’ ratings without matching test and loading conditions.

Measure the equipment, not just the TV
Measure every console, receiver, dock, and other component you plan to store. For each device, compare its height, width, and depth with the stand’s usable opening, then account for plugs, cable bends, ventilation clearance, and the orientation required by the device maker. A product page naming Xbox, PlayStation, or Nintendo systems does not establish that every model fits every compartment.
- Check the dimensions of each actual device and any attachments, such as a dock or external drive.
- Use internal bay measurements where available. Do not substitute the stand’s total width or depth for the opening dimensions.
- Allow room for connected cables and the airflow clearances required by the console manufacturer.
- Confirm that adjustable shelves can be placed at the height your equipment needs.
- Check the stand’s stated load rating for the top and the specific shelf where each item will sit.
Plan ventilation and cable routing
Ventilation and cable access are distinct features worth checking against your layout. Dorel describes a ventilated sliding door; BDI lists flow-through ventilation and rear access panels; Costway says its cable cutouts promote airflow. These are product descriptions, not independent thermal measurements or a replacement for equipment placement instructions.

Draw a simple cable map before assembly: mark each device’s power lead, HDMI connection, and any other connections, then compare their positions with the stand’s holes, rear openings, and outlets. The DEXSO listing describes open-back cable management and built-in outlets; Costway lists two cable holes; BDI lists cable management and rear access. A power hub does not remove the need to check electrical load, outlet access, and cord routing.

Published load limits differ across these products and apply to the specifications and conditions stated by their respective sellers. For example, Costway lists 100 lb for the tabletop and 22 lb per shelf, while BDI lists 50 lb for adjustable shelves and 100 lb for the bottom shelf. Shelving Inc.’s 800 lb figure is specifically for each shelf with weight evenly distributed. These values should not be treated as a controlled, like-for-like comparison.
