For a dedicated Ninja food processor, the Professional Plus BN601 is the clearest all-around pick: it has a 9-cup bowl, a dough blade, a reversible slicing/shredding disc and four Auto-iQ programs. Choose the newer PREPi line for compact prep-and-store convenience, the Professional XL for larger batches if it is available, or the BN801 if you also want a blender. These are different appliance formats, not interchangeable versions of one “best” processor.

| Best for | Model | Why it fits | Important caveat |
|---|---|---|---|
| Everyday dedicated processing | Professional Plus BN601 | 9-cup bowl, chopping blade, dough blade, reversible slice/shred disc and four Auto-iQ programs. | Ninja lists 850 watts in its technical specifications and separately advertises 1000 peak watts; those are different measures. | Prep that can be stored or served | PREPi PN351 or PN301 | Two bowls, 5 and 7 cups, with storage lids; PN351 adds a dicing kit. | Newly listed, without independent hands-on test results in the available coverage. Confirm the exact variant and included accessories. SharkNinja catalog |
| Larger batches | Professional XL | 12-cup processor bowl plus a 4.5-cup work bowl, multiple blades and discs. | The surfaced official catalog listing was marked out of stock, so availability is not established. Ninja product catalog reference |
| Blending plus processing | BN801 Kitchen System | Combines a blender pitcher, personal cups and an 8-cup processor bowl. | It is a blender/processor system, not a dedicated 9-cup processor. Pitcher capacity and processor-bowl capacity refer to separate containers. Ninja BN801 specifications |
Why the BN601 is the strongest dedicated pick
The BN601’s included tools cover common processor jobs without adding a blender pitcher to the counter: chopping, dough mixing, slicing and shredding. Ninja lists four Auto-iQ programs, and its technical specification table gives the motor rating as 850 watts. The product’s marketing copy also says “1000 peak watts”; peak wattage is not the same as the technical-table rating, so it should not be read as a 1000-watt continuous rating.
There is model-specific independent evidence, but it is not a universal verdict. Consumer Reports’ public BN601 page rates chopping almonds and onions, slicing celery and mushrooms, shredding cheddar and carrots, and noise “very good”; pureeing peas and carrots and grating parmesan are rated “good.” The overall score is not publicly visible, so it cannot be inferred from those category results. For a separate comparison, Tom’s Guide’s 2026 food-processor guide tested a “Ninja Professional Food Processor” with 9-cup capacity and 850-watt output. It reported that the machine handled a cookie-dough batch, but automatic shutoff stopped its hummus puree and dough-mixing tests before completion; the guide measured 93.8 dBA. The guide does not establish that this tested model is the BN601, so those findings should not be transferred to the Professional Plus by assumption. Tom’s Guide 2026 comparison

Dedicated 9-cup processors: BN601 and BZ601
The BN601 is the best-documented straightforward choice in this group. SharkNinja’s catalog also lists the PrecisionPro BZ601 as a 9-cup dedicated processor, with four Auto-iQ presets, three manual speeds, a chopping blade, dough blade and reversible disc. The catalog’s listed configuration makes it worth comparing if it is available where you shop, but verify the SKU and included bundle: BN601 and BZ601 are easy to confuse by name.
PREPi PN351: compact prep, storage and dicing
The PN351 is listed as a 6-in-1 system for dicing, crinkle cutting, chopping, pureeing, slicing and shredding. It comes with 5- and 7-cup bowls and storage lids, plus a dicing kit. That arrangement suits someone who values moving prepared ingredients from processing to storage or serving more than a single large bowl.

Homes & Gardens reported the PREPi launch on October 2, 2026, while noting that its author had not yet tried the product. Its capabilities should therefore be treated as manufacturer-listed features, not independent test results. Homes & Gardens launch coverage
PREPi PN301: same storage idea, different kit
The PN301 is listed as a 5-in-1 model with the same 5- and 7-cup bowls and storage lids, covering chopping, slicing, crinkle cutting, shredding and pureeing. Do not assume every PN301 listing has the same contents: the catalog’s separate PN301B1 listing includes a dicing kit, while the general PN301 description does not.

- 200 watt power pod.
- Effortlessly mince, chop, grind and blend a variety of ingredients for easy meal preparation or final touches
- Perfect for garlic, onion, zest, spices, herbs, cheese, bacon crumbles, nut chopping, chocolate, dressings, sauces and spreads
- Capacity: 16 ounces
- Ergonomic designed power head is easy to handle
Professional XL: more room, but check stock
The Professional XL is listed with a 12-cup main bowl, a 4.5-cup work bowl, three blades, two discs and a storage box. Those capacities make it the more relevant option for larger batches, but the surfaced catalog marked it out of stock. Treat it as a candidate only if a current retailer confirms the exact model and availability.
BN801: choose it when a blender is part of the plan
The BN801 pairs an 8-cup processor bowl with a 72-ounce blender pitcher, whose stated maximum liquid capacity is 64 ounces, and two 24-ounce cups. Ninja lists a 1400-peak-watt base and five Auto-iQ programs. The pitcher and cups make this a broader kitchen system, but the processor bowl is smaller than the BN601’s 9-cup bowl.
Rank #4
- ALL-IN-ONE KITCHEN SYSTEM: Blend, crush, chop, mix, slice, shred, and more with this 1800-peak-watt blender and processor combo that powers through even the toughest ingredients
- AUTOMATIC BLENDSENSE TECHNOLOGY: BlendSense creates a custom program for every blend, automatically adjusting speed and time for perfectly smooth results
- FAMILY-SIZE PITCHER CAPACITY: The 72-oz.* full-size XL pitcher is great for making large batches of smoothies and frozen drinks for the whole family, with 64-oz. max liquid capacity
- ON-THE-GO CONVENIENCE: The 24-oz. single-serve cup with spout lid lets you enjoy blended drinks on the go, with liquid detect to alert you when more liquid is needed
- VERSATILE FOOD PROCESSING: Use the 8-cup bowl with single-touch programs for even chopping, smooth purees, and processing up to 2 lbs of dough
Blenders and processors also do different jobs. Ninja describes blenders as suited to smooth purees such as smoothies, hummus and dips, while processors handle chunkier chopping, dough mixing, slicing and grating. Ninja says the BN601 food processor is not recommended for crushing ice; its BN801 blender pitcher is a separate component, with blades Ninja says are designed to crush ice.

What to compare before buying
- Capacity: PREPi offers 5- and 7-cup bowls; BN601 and BZ601 are listed at 9 cups; the BN801 processor bowl is 8 cups; the Professional XL is listed at 12 cups plus a 4.5-cup work bowl. These are listed bowl capacities, not guaranteed usable recipe volumes.
- Included tools: Check whether the exact bundle includes a dough blade, reversible slicing/shredding disc, dicing kit, storage lids or accessory storage. Similar model names do not guarantee identical contents.
- Counter and cabinet fit: Compare dimensions for the exact SKU, including whether you plan to store the bowl, lid and accessories assembled or separately. Dimensions are not stated consistently for every option here.
- Cleaning and safe handling: Follow the owner’s guide for the specific model and accessory. Do not assume every disc, blade, bowl or lid has identical dishwasher directions; handle cutting tools carefully.
- Availability and price: Catalog listings and retailer stock change by seller, date and market. Verify the exact model number, bundle and current listing before comparing prices.
How to make the choice
- Pick the appliance type. Choose a dedicated processor for processor-first use, PREPi if bowls with storage lids are the draw, or BN801 if you need a blender and personal cups too.
- Match the bowl to your typical batch. Compare the listed bowl capacities, remembering that a bowl’s nominal capacity is not a recipe’s usable volume.
- Check task-specific accessories. For dough, confirm a dough blade is included; for dicing, confirm the kit is included with that precise SKU.
- Verify the live product listing. Confirm stock, included parts, dimensions and care directions from the manufacturer or retailer listing for your market.
