LG’s U.S. lineup includes 7.4 cu. ft. models such as the DLEX4000 series and a 9.0 cu. ft. example, the DLEX8100V, but manufacturer specifications do not establish which dryer performs best in independent testing. Start by matching a currently available electric model to your household and installation.
How to choose an LG electric dryer
- Measure the space. Check the model’s dimensions, door swing, required clearances and route into the laundry area. A larger drum is useful only if the dryer fits and can be installed correctly.
- Choose capacity for your loads. LG’s U.S. listings include models described as extra-large and models up to 9.0 cu. ft. Compare the capacity and dimensions of the exact model rather than assuming every dryer in a series is the same.
- Decide which features you will use. Consider steam, sensor drying, Wi-Fi, specialty programs and control layout. More cycles do not, by themselves, mean better drying.
- Confirm the installation configuration. Verify the electrical connection, vent route, stacking requirements and compatibility of any accessories against the exact model’s manual.
- Compare the current total cost. Check the dryer price alongside delivery, installation, haul-away and any required accessories. LG notes that prices and availability vary by model, store and online retailer.
LG electric dryer models to consider by need
These are examples from LG’s U.S. product listings, not an independently tested ranking or a complete survey of the market. Check that a model is currently sold as an electric dryer in your area before choosing it.
| Model | What LG lists | Who might consider it | What to verify |
|---|---|---|---|
| DLEX4000W / DLEX4000B | 7.4 cu. ft. front-load electric dryer, Wi-Fi functionality and TurboSteam. LG identifies Built-In Intelligence on the DLEX4000 product page. The DLEX4000B listing specifies 12 programs and 12 options. | Households seeking a 7.4 cu. ft. smart/steam option. | The finish and suffix on the exact listing, current availability, dimensions and installation accessories. |
| DLEX6700B | LG lists 23 programs, including AI Dry, Easy Ironing, SteamFresh and SteamSanitary. | People likely to use a wider range of specialty cycles. | Current availability and whether the additional programs suit your routine; the program count is not evidence of better drying performance. |
| DLEX8100V | 9.0 cu. ft. electric dryer with TrueSteam and Sensor Dry, according to LG. | People comparing a larger-capacity tier. | LG says a new model is available, so check its replacement listing and current sale status before treating this model as a current option. |
LG’s category listing includes other configurations, including rear-control, 7.3–7.4 cu. ft., heat-pump and ventless models. Confirm that any candidate is electric and matches your intended venting and installation setup.
Is 7.4 cu. ft. big enough?
Capacity alone cannot answer whether a dryer suits your household. Compare the drum capacity with the size and frequency of your typical loads, then check the appliance’s outside dimensions and clearances. A 7.4 cu. ft. model such as the DLEX4000 series is one option in LG’s U.S. range; LG also lists a 9.0 cu. ft. model example. The larger figure describes capacity, not a guarantee of shorter cycles or better results.

Do you need steam or sensor drying?
Steam
LG describes its steam technology as helping reduce wrinkles and odor. Steam features are model-specific, so check the specifications for the exact dryer. If you are unlikely to use steam-related functions, you may prefer to focus on fit, controls and price rather than paying for a feature you do not need.
Sensor Dry
LG says its Sensor Dry system measures moisture and humidity during a cycle and adjusts drying time. That is the manufacturer’s feature description; it is not independent evidence of energy savings or improved fabric care. Confirm that the model you are considering lists Sensor Dry.

How much do controls, cycles and Wi-Fi matter?
LG models vary in connectivity, control layout, programs and options. For example, LG lists 12 programs and 12 options for the DLEX4000B, while its DLEX6700B specifications list 23 programs. Choose based on cycles and controls you expect to use, rather than treating a larger program count as a performance score. Check the exact model page for Wi-Fi or ThinQ support and any other feature you want.
What should you check before installation?
- Vent route: LG’s category page describes a 4-way venting option that can vent from the back, sides or top of the back. Do not assume every model supports every route; verify the exact dryer’s manual.
- Stacking: LG lists the KSTK4 front-load stacking kit among related accessories for the DLEX4000W. Check compatibility with the exact dryer and washer before ordering.
- Side venting: LG lists the 3911EZ9131X side-vent accessory for the DLEX4000W. Confirm fit and permitted vent configuration for your model.
- Pedestal: LG lists WDP6 pedestal options among related accessories for the DLEX4000W. Verify the correct fit for the model and finish.
- Space and connections: Measure the laundry area, doorway and access path; confirm clearances and the required electrical connection with the product documentation or installer.
Where to verify model details and availability
Use LG’s exact product listing and manual to confirm specifications, replacement status and accessory compatibility. LG cautions that features and specifications may change, and that prices, promotions and availability vary by model and retailer. For a marketplace purchase, make sure the listing is the exact model and finish, and review seller, stock, delivery, installation and return terms.
