The models described as nugget makers produce the closest documented match to crushed-like ice; they do not make conventional crushed ice. Which type of portable ice maker makes crushed-like ice?

How to choose for drinks away from home
Match the ice to the drink
For a chewable, crushed-like texture, shortlist nugget models such as Newair’s NIM026MBN0 / NIM026SSN0 or Costway’s nugget countertop maker. Consider the Midea or Newair bullet model only if bullet-shaped ice suits your drinks; they are not substitutes for nugget ice when texture is the priority.
Check the destination’s power and carrying needs
The cited nugget models are listed for 110–120 V or 115 V, and the cited Midea bullet maker is listed for 115 V. Plan to use an appropriate outlet. The listings do not establish battery operation or real-world vehicle-power compatibility. Weight is also relevant if you will move the unit between locations: the listed nugget models weigh 18.7 lb and 20 lb, while Midea’s bullet model weighs 14.6 lb. Costway specifies a handle; the other cited pages do not establish a carry handle.

Compare basket storage with daily output
Daily production and the amount held in the basket are different measures. Costway lists 34 lb per day but a 1.8 lb basket; Midea lists a 0.9 lb removable basket, and Newair’s bullet model lists a 1.5 lb basket. Newair describes the nugget model’s basket as removable but does not state its capacity in the cited listing. If you need more ice than the basket holds, consider how you will transfer and store batches in a cooler or another container.
Consider cleaning and included parts
Newair lists one-touch self-cleaning for its nugget model and describes its removable basket and scoop as dishwasher-safe. Midea lists a one-touch auto-clean function for its bullet model. These are listed care features, not evidence that one machine is easier to keep hygienic or more durable over time. Check the current product instructions for cleaning steps and which parts may be washed in a dishwasher.
