The best one-pot pressure cooker for your kitchen is an electric pressure multicooker with the capacity, cooking modes, controls and cleanup requirements you will actually use. Models vary: “multicooker” does not mean every appliance can slow-cook, make rice, sauté or perform the same extra tasks. Compare exact model specifications rather than choosing by the longest feature list.
What is a one-pot pressure cooker?
The phrase usually refers to an electric pressure multicooker: a countertop appliance that pressure cooks and may offer other functions in the same cooking pot. Those additional modes differ by model. Instant Pot, for example, lists pressure cooking, slow cooking, sautéing, steaming, rice cooking, yogurt making and keep-warm on its RIO 6-quart multicooker. These are manufacturer-listed functions, not a standard feature set for every pressure cooker. Check the RIO’s official product details and compare them with the exact model you are considering.
Which features matter when choosing one?
Capacity for your meals
Choose capacity based on the portions and batch sizes you regularly make, as well as how much counter or storage space you can spare. The RIO example is 6 quarts; that is a product specification, not a universal recommendation for every household. Check the capacity of the specific model rather than assuming appliances with similar names hold the same amount.
Cooking modes you will use
Start with pressure cooking, then identify any secondary modes that would replace an appliance or cooking step you already use. If you want to brown ingredients in the pot, confirm that the cooker includes sauté. If you expect to use it for slow cooking, rice or yogurt, verify those functions on the exact model. Inner-pot material and care
Pot material can be a deciding preference. Instant Pot says its inner pot is food-grade 304 stainless steel without a chemical coating; do not assume that description applies to another brand or model. Controls, release method and footprint
Look at the control layout and the pressure-release method in the official listing and manual. The available information here does not establish release behavior or dimensions across models, so confirm both for your candidate before purchase. Measure the counter or storage area where it will live, including room for the lid and safe operation, and check the care instructions for the pot and lid components.

A concrete example: Instant Pot RIO 6-quart
The RIO is one example to use when comparing specifications, not an overall winner. Instant Pot lists a 6-quart capacity and seven functions: pressure cook, slow cook, sauté, steam, rice, yogurt and keep warm. The company also says it can cook “up to 70% faster than traditional slow cooking methods.” That is the manufacturer’s comparison claim on its product page, not a guaranteed result for every recipe or a comparison with all pressure cookers.

Instant Pot describes the RIO as having “over 10 safety mechanisms,” including overheat protection and an easy-seal safety lid lock. This is the manufacturer’s description of that model, not an independent or comparative safety assessment. Review the manufacturer’s RIO specifications and consult its manual for operating details.

Before buying or using a pressure multicooker, check the model label against current official safety notices. A May 1, 2025 U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission notice covers specific SharkNinja Foodi OP300 Series pressure cookers—not every Ninja appliance. The notice says the pressure-cooking lid can open during use, allowing hot contents to escape.

The listed U.S. model numbers are OP300, OP301, OP301A, OP302, OP302BRN, OP302HCN, OP302HAQ, OP302HW, OP302HB, OP305, OP305CO and OP350CO. The CPSC notice reports about 1,846,400 units sold in the United States and about 184,240 in Canada, along with 106 burn-injury reports, including more than 50 reports of second- or third-degree burns, and 26 lawsuits. These figures concern the recalled product line, not pressure cookers overall.
If your cooker is listed, follow the CPSC recall notice: it directs consumers to stop using the pressure-cooking function and contact SharkNinja for a free replacement lid. The notice says air frying and other functions may continue. Check the current notice for instructions; do not treat a generic replacement part as the recall remedy.
