The glass can move from freezer to refrigerator, oven, or microwave only when used according to Anchor Hocking’s care instructions; plastic covers cannot go in a conventional oven.
Which Anchor Hocking storage collection should you choose?
“Tupperware” is often used casually to mean food-storage containers, but the products here are Anchor Hocking glass containers. Choose by lid design and how you handle food, then narrow the choice by shape and capacity.

The leak and spill language above is the manufacturer’s description, not an independent comparison or test. Do not assume every Anchor Hocking lid has the same seal, or that a lid from one family fits another. Anchor Hocking notes that cover fit may vary.
What sizes are available in TrueLock?
Anchor Hocking lists six TrueLock sizes: three rectangular containers and three round containers. Capacity is stated in cups.

Use the shape that fits your shelf and the food you most often store. A rectangular footprint may fit neatly in a row or shelf, while a round container can suit foods that are easier to scoop from a curved edge. Those are practical considerations, not manufacturer performance claims. The TrueSeal page describes multiple shapes and sizes but does not establish a directly comparable size list here.
How to choose for leftovers, meal prep, or carrying food
- For everyday leftovers: Match capacity to a typical portion and select a shape that fits your refrigerator shelves. A smaller container can reduce unused space, while larger sizes accommodate family portions.
- For meal prep and stacking: Compare the TrueSeal stackable design with the size and shape you need. Confirm that your intended stack fits your refrigerator or cupboard.
- For transport: A clasping TrueLock lid may be appealing, but treat its leakproof wording as Anchor Hocking’s qualified claim, not a guarantee for every food, fill level, or handling condition. Follow the lid instructions and keep containers upright when a spill would matter.
- For reheating or baking: The glass can be used in a microwave or oven within the manufacturer’s care guidance. The plastic cover is a separate component with stricter limits and must not go into a conventional oven.
- For replacement covers: Match the exact collection and size, then verify fit before buying. The manufacturer says cover fit can vary; do not rely on a lid from a different family fitting.
What can go in the freezer, microwave, and oven?
Anchor Hocking says its food-storage glass is suitable for the freezer, refrigerator, oven, and microwave when handled according to its Care & Use instructions. That does not mean the complete container with its plastic cover is oven-safe. Covers are not for conventional ovens.

Moving glass from freezer to heat
Do not put a frozen glass dish directly into a preheated oven or microwave. Thaw it first. Sudden temperature changes can damage glass; also avoid setting hot glass on a wet or cold surface or adding liquid to hot glass.
Using a plastic cover in the microwave
Anchor Hocking’s cover guidance calls for leaving a gap or vent when microwaving, limiting reheating to no more than 60 seconds, and removing the cover after reheating to help prevent warping. The cover is not for a stovetop, broiler, toaster oven, or conventional oven. Follow the instructions for the specific container and cover if they differ.

How to clean and protect the glass
Anchor Hocking says its food-storage glass and lids are dishwasher safe and recommends washing them before first use. To reduce the risk of breakage, avoid sudden temperature changes and hard impacts. Do not use glass that is chipped, cracked, or noticeably scratched. Anchor Hocking’s FAQ states that food storage has a five-year limited warranty. A limited warranty is subject to its current terms and the relevant product; check those terms for coverage and exclusions rather than assuming every breakage or lid issue is covered. The manufacturer’s product pages provide collection descriptions and claims, but they do not establish independent comparative durability or leak testing.
