Whether it is right for your kitchen depends on fit, dish clearance, features and local purchase conditions—not just the drawer design.
How a two-drawer dishwasher works
Instead of one shared wash tub, the Fisher & Paykel DD24DT2NX9 has two drawers that can run separately. The manufacturer says each drawer is a half load, so you can wash one while loading the other, or run separate cycles for different loads. Fisher & Paykel describes the model this way: “Both drawers operate independently so two wash cycles can operate simultaneously to allow for varying loads.”
That flexibility may suit households that regularly have smaller loads or want to separate dishwashing tasks. It is a description of how the appliance can be used, not a guarantee that it will reduce water or energy use; actual consumption depends on how it is operated.
What the current US-listed model offers
Fisher & Paykel’s US listing identifies the DD24DT2NX9 as a Series 7 Contemporary Tall Double DishDrawer. The manufacturer lists 14 place settings in total, seven per drawer. Plate clearance differs by drawer, so check the largest plates and serving pieces you use rather than relying on the total place-setting count alone.

Wash programs
The detailed specification for the DD24DT2NX9 lists seven programs: 60 min, Eco, Glassware, Heavy, Light, Medium and Rinse. The product listing summary presents the program count differently and also mentions Quick, Sanitize and Dry+ modifiers. Check the exact model documentation for the controls and options included in the version offered where you live.

Energy, water and noise
Fisher & Paykel’s current product specification page lists 265 kWh per year, 3.44 gallons per wash cycle when both tubs are running, and 42 dBA on the standard cycle in the top drawer. These are manufacturer specifications, not independent comparative test results. The water figure is specifically for both tubs running; do not treat it as the consumption of a single-drawer cycle or compare it with another model unless the operating basis matches.
How to compare two-drawer models
Compare exact model numbers and market versions. A two-drawer layout is only one part of the decision; installation dimensions, loading capacity, controls and published operating data can differ between models.

- Fit and installation: Check cabinet opening width, depth and height, required height adjustment, plumbing, electrical supply and service access against the installation documentation for the exact model. Do not assume an older model’s requirements apply to a current one.
- Loading: Compare total place settings, settings per drawer, plate clearance and rack layout with your everyday dishes, cookware and serving pieces.
- Routine: Decide whether independent cycles and the ability to load one drawer while another runs fit your household. These are convenience features, not proof of savings.
- Programs and features: Check the exact model’s wash programs, modifiers, drying options and connected features, if any.
- Operating figures: Compare energy, water and noise specifications on a consistent basis. For example, distinguish a two-tub water figure from a single-drawer cycle figure.
- Purchase conditions: Verify local price, stock, delivery, installation, warranty and service arrangements with the manufacturer or dealer.
Availability, price and installation checks
Fisher & Paykel USA lists a starting price of $2,349.00 for the DD24DT2NX9. This is the manufacturer’s listed starting price, accessed in 2026; prices can change and may vary by dealer or location. The manufacturer page provides a “Where to Buy” route, but local stock, delivery and installation terms should be confirmed with the seller.
Fisher & Paykel Canada also lists a Series 9 Contemporary Tall Double DishDrawer, model DD24DT4NX9. That Canadian listing establishes another manufacturer-listed model, but it does not establish US availability, pricing or equivalent specifications. Confirm the market and exact model number before comparing it with a US product.

Installation values are not interchangeable across generations. For example, Fisher & Paykel’s specification guide for the older DD24DAX9 N gives a different height range and lists its own electrical and plumbing requirements. Use that guide only for that older model; use the current model’s installation documentation for the DD24DT2NX9.

Consider one if independent smaller loads would make your cleanup routine more convenient and the drawer capacity and plate clearances fit what you own. Before committing, confirm the exact model’s dimensions and installation requirements, then check its local price, availability, delivery, installation and service support. The DD24DT2NX9 is a manufacturer-documented option, not an independently tested category winner.
