GE Appliances models offer verified examples, but the available manufacturer information does not establish a universal best cleaner. Choose by checking whether your bottles fit, whether the feature is included on the exact model, and whether its rack layout and installation dimensions suit your kitchen.
What bottle jets do—and what they do not
GE Appliances describes Bottle Wash as four specially designed tines in the upper rack that direct water and detergent inside narrow-opening items such as baby bottles, sports bottles, wine flutes, and travel mugs. Each tine has four water jets, and removable clips help hold smaller-opening bottles in position. GE Appliances’ support information explains that water sprays through the tines even when Bottle Wash is off; selecting the option adds wash time.
The feature is integrated into particular dishwasher models, not a standard found on every machine. GE says bottle jets cannot be added to a model that was not designed with them. The clips can be removed, but GE does not recommend removing the jets from the rack.
How to tell whether your bottles will fit
There is no single clearance that guarantees a fit. GE says bottle fit depends on height, thickness, and how the item rests on the jets. Most models have approximately 9 inches of clearance; lowering an adjustable upper rack may provide about 2 inches more. On a model with a third rack and adjustable upper rack, clearance may be about 7 inches with the upper rack in its top position or 9 inches in its lower position.

- Measure the height and widest point of the bottles you actually wash.
- Check the exact dishwasher’s manual and rack diagram for bottle-jet location, rack settings, and clearance. Do not assume a figure for one model applies to another.
- Confirm that the bottle can sit securely over a jet without colliding with the rack above or below it. Use the clips where supplied and appropriate for the bottle.
- For a third-rack model, verify clearance with the rack in the configuration you expect to use; moving a rack may change space elsewhere in the dishwasher.

The dBA figures above are specifications listed by the manufacturer, not independent measurements or a direct test of noise in a home. The cited information does not establish comparable cleaning, drying, capacity, efficiency, reliability, or value results among these models. GE’s page for the separate Profile PDT775SYNFS says that model is no longer manufactured, so an older listing alone is not evidence that a model is currently in production.

What else to compare before choosing
- Rack flexibility: Compare adjustable-rack positions and third-rack layouts against the bottles, dishes, and utensils you wash most.
- Kitchen fit: Check the exact model’s installation dimensions. If you need an ADA-compliant or low-profile design, confirm the specific model designation and its current specifications rather than relying on a broad series name.
- Noise: Treat maker-listed dBA as a published specification, not a guarantee of how loud the machine will seem in your room.
- Cycle and care: GE says Bottle Wash may add up to 23 minutes to a cycle. This is a maximum possible increase stated by the manufacturer, not a guaranteed increase on every model or cycle. GE also says fine and ultra-fine filters should be cleaned frequently, citing every other month or more often depending on use; follow the manual for your exact dishwasher.
- Availability: Confirm that the exact model is currently sold in your region and that its configuration matches the product page. A feature list or builder-guide entry does not by itself establish local stock.
How to make a sensible choice
Start with your tallest and widest narrow-opening containers. If they fit securely in the manufacturer’s diagrammed bottle-jet area, compare the machine’s rack flexibility and installation fit with your kitchen. Then weigh the published specifications you care about—such as listed noise rating—against current local availability. Do not treat a bottle-jet label as evidence that one dishwasher cleans or dries better overall: the cited manufacturer information does not provide independent head-to-head performance testing.
