Selena Gomez’s former Encino home is a roughly 11,500-square-foot estate with a skylit living room, marble-and-brick kitchen, recording studio, and resort-style backyard. Architectural Digest reported that Gomez bought it in 2020 for about $4.9 million; the outlet reported its sale for $5.4 million in 2026. Before Gomez, Tom Petty and Jane Benyo custom-built and owned the residence for decades.
What does Selena Gomez’s former Encino house look like inside?
The home sits behind a long gated driveway in Encino’s Rancho enclave, at the end of a cul-de-sac, according to Architectural Digest. Its scale and mix of entertaining, work, and wellness spaces make it feel more like a private compound than a conventional house.
A dramatic central living room
Architectural Digest describes a living room topped by a skylight, with a floor-to-ceiling stone fireplace rising past an upstairs balcony. The room’s height and natural light make it the home’s visual centerpiece.
A kitchen made familiar on screen
The kitchen pairs marble counters with a brick stove. It also has a pop-culture connection: Architectural Digest reports that Gomez filmed three seasons of Selena + Chef there.

Rooms for work and wellness
Reported amenities include a recording studio or vocal booth, an office, a gym, and a massage room. The brokerage listing also describes a lower-level kitchen and glam room. These spaces extend the home beyond its public entertaining rooms, although the sources do not provide construction plans or detailed finish specifications.
Bedrooms and the outdoor grounds
Architectural Digest places the primary suite on the main level and five other bedrooms upstairs. The brokerage listing describes an additional upstairs primary suite alongside four other suites, a slightly different layout description. Published bathroom totals also conflict, so a single unqualified count would be misleading.

The property’s earlier celebrity chapter began with Tom Petty and Jane Benyo, who custom-built it in 1989 and owned it until 2017, according to Architectural Digest. That outlet also reported that the house replaced a Tudor-style mansion destroyed in an arson-set fire. Gomez acquired it in 2020, and its kitchen became a set for her cooking show. The reported 2026 sale means it should be understood as her former home, not her current residence.
The reported purchase and sale prices alone do not establish the owner’s profit: renovation expenses, carrying costs, and transaction costs are not provided in the cited reporting.

The Beverly Hills Estates listing also gives approximately 11,483 square feet, while describing the lot as 37,752 square feet. Those lot figures are not directly equivalent, so the listing measurements should be treated as separately reported figures rather than silently reconciled.
Bathroom counts vary by publication: Architectural Digest reports 10, while Realtor.com reports 8.5. The Beverly Hills Estates listing gives 10. The discrepancy is unresolved in the published accounts.
