Five Harbor Freight product categories stood out in a SlashGear roundup updated April 18, 2026: a Pittsburgh quick-release bar clamp, a Storehouse stacking bin, U.S. General magnetic accessories, HFT brushes and Quinn painting tools. The roundup reported prices from $2.97 to $4.99 and strong customer ratings, but those are dated figures from Harbor Freight listings—not a guarantee of today’s price, stock or performance. Check the current listing or your local store before making a trip.
How to read these picks
SlashGear said its selection considered product features and ratings, requiring at least 200 Harbor Freight website reviews and an average above 4.5 stars, alongside high recommendation rates from verified reviewers. That is a review-based screen, not an independent durability test. The prices and review figures below are those reported in its April 18, 2026 update. Read the SlashGear roundup.
For a construction, repair or shop task, judge a low-cost tool by fit as well as price: confirm the dimensions and capacity suit the work, check what is included, and verify whether the item is sold online or only in-store.
1. Pittsburgh quick-release bar clamps
The roundup reported the Pittsburgh 6-inch quick-release bar clamp at $3.49, with a 4.7-star average from more than 5,000 Harbor Freight reviewers. Its stated specifications were a carbon-steel bar, cast-iron jaws, 6-inch clamping capacity, 2.5-inch throat depth and 10-inch overall length.

It also listed a 12-inch version at $4.49, with the same 2.5-inch throat depth and a reported 4.7-star average from more than 2,200 reviewers. The longer model gives more clamping capacity; it does not increase the reported throat depth. These are small clamps suited to light holding and positioning jobs, not a substitute for choosing a clamp with adequate reach and force for a particular assembly.
2. Storehouse stacking bins
The Storehouse Clear Stacking Bin was listed at $2.97 and rated 4.6 stars by more than 1,000 Harbor Freight buyers. The article gives dimensions of 12.75 by 8.25 by 6 inches and a maximum load of 15 pounds, and says it is available in-store only. That makes it a practical candidate for organizing small parts or supplies at a workbench, provided the local store has it and the load stays within the stated limit.

Other low-cost options named in the roundup were a similar Yukon bin listed online for $2.99 and a Storehouse 4-inch Stacking Tilt Bin at $2.99, rated 4.8 stars from more than 800 reviewers. Confirm the exact model and current availability: similar names do not establish identical dimensions or storage capacity.
3. U.S. General magnetic accessories
18-inch Magnetic Tool Holder
The roundup reported a $4.99 price and a 4.8-star average, with 99% recommending the holder among more than 12,200 buyers. A magnetic holder can keep compatible metal tools visible and close at hand; check that the mounting surface and installation method suit your shop before relying on it for storage.

6-inch Magnetic Parts Tray
The $4.99 tray was reported at 4.8 stars from more than 1,300 buyers. The article says it holds up to 10 pounds, has a nonmarring rubber base and comes in five colors. Its stated capacity is a product claim, not an independent load test; avoid treating the tray as a rated lifting or overhead-storage device.
4. HFT brushes
36-piece Horsehair Bristle Acid Shop Brush Set
The 1/2-inch brush set was listed at $2.99 and rated 4.7 stars from more than 1,800 reviews. The roundup describes the brushes as intended for oil, paint or glue. A large set at this price may be useful for disposable or task-specific application, but select a brush appropriate to the material and surface rather than assuming every brush suits every coating or chemical.

The same article listed an 18-inch Deluxe Dip & Wash Long Reach Brush at $4.99, rated 4.8 stars from more than 350 reviews, and a Deluxe Wheel & Grill Brush Set at $3.99, rated 4.6 stars from more than 400 buyers. The longer brush is the option to consider when reach matters; the wheel-and-grill set is a different cleaning use case.

14-in-1 Painter’s Tool
The roundup listed the in-store-only Quinn 14-in-1 Painter’s Tool at $4.99, with a 4.8-star average from more than 780 buyers and about 96% recommending it. It describes a stainless-steel body and 3-inch blade, with scraping, can-opening, spreading and other functions. This multipurpose format can reduce the number of separate tools needed for basic prep, but check that the blade shape and task are appropriate before using it on a finished surface.

Harbor Freight’s clearance page, accessed October 7, 2026, shows that under-$5 products can still appear, including WARRIOR titanium high-speed-steel drill bits and GRANT’S microfiber cloths, but clearance stock varies by location and that page does not verify that these five picks remain under $5.
