Buildcheck announced a $12 million Series A on September 9, 2026, led by Telescope Partners. The company says it will use its AI-powered construction design-review platform to help project teams connect information across drawings, specifications, decisions, constraints and components. It later disclosed that WND Ventures, DPR Construction’s corporate venture arm, also invested in the round.
Who invested in Buildcheck’s Series A?
Buildcheck’s September 9 announcement named Telescope Partners as the lead investor, with Uncork Capital, Salt VC and Xfund participating as follow-on investors. On October 6, Buildcheck separately announced WND Ventures’ participation. WND is DPR Construction’s corporate venture arm, and the company said the investment followed a proof of concept and pilot deployments at DPR.
Buildcheck said the Series A brought its total funding to $18 million raised across nine months. Engineering News-Record reported that the company had raised a $5.9 million seed round about nine months before the Series A. The cited announcements do not disclose a valuation, individual investor cheque sizes or how the round was allocated among participants.
What does Buildcheck’s software do?
Buildcheck describes its product as an AI-powered platform for reviewing construction designs. The company says it helps project teams see relationships among drawings, specifications, decisions, constraints and components—information that can be spread across project documents and disciplines.

The company says experienced industry experts validate AI outputs and retain final judgment on engineering, safety, cost and design. As co-founder and CEO Alexander Michalatos put it: “Crucially, judgment remains in the hands of experts. AI should not make the final call on engineering, safety, cost, or design.” These are Buildcheck’s stated product principles; the announcements do not provide independent testing of accuracy or project outcomes.
What traction has Buildcheck reported?
Buildcheck reported more than 110 paying customers in its September announcement. It named DPR Construction, EllisDon, Power Construction, IMC Construction and EMJ Construction, and said customers use the platform on data center, healthcare, commercial and residential projects. These customer and project figures come from the company; the announcements do not break them down by sector or describe independent verification.

What the funding announcement does—and does not—show
The round adds a financing milestone and a named construction-sector investor with a reported pilot relationship. It does not establish how the software performs compared with alternatives, whether it reduces review time or project risk, or how widely it has been deployed at any named customer. No independent performance benchmark or competitive comparison is provided in the announcements.
For construction teams evaluating design-review software, the useful questions remain practical: which drawings and disciplines the platform covers, how it flags and coordinates issues, what expert validation entails, how responsibility is assigned, and what deployment evidence exists for projects like theirs. Buildcheck’s financing and customer count alone do not answer those questions.
