If your Samsung oven or range has Air Fry mode, use the model’s manual to confirm tray placement, set the Air Fry function and temperature, and start cooking. Samsung’s general U.S. guide says to put the Air Fry tray on rack position 3, place a baking sheet below it to catch drips, and skip preheating—but those instructions may differ by model.
Check that your Samsung oven has Air Fry
Air Fry is not available on every Samsung oven or range. Check the control panel and the user manual for your exact model before gathering accessories or choosing a setting. Samsung’s range FAQ says the tray is included with select models, while Samsung’s support information provides access to manuals. Some twin-cooking models require Single oven mode before Air Fry can be selected.
Set up the trays
Samsung’s general U.S. instructions place the Air Fry tray on rack position 3, the third position from the bottom. Put a separate baking sheet or oven-safe tray on the rack below it to catch fat and juices. The lower pan catches drippings; it does not replace the Air Fry tray. Samsung says adding water to the lower pan can help reduce smoke. If your model’s manual specifies a different position or setup, follow that instruction.
Before buying an accessory, check the box contents and your exact model’s manual. Samsung says a compatible Air Fry tray may be sold separately when it is not included. Its NX-AA5000RS stainless-steel Air Fry tray is listed for 30-inch ranges; do not assume it fits other models. Check appliance compatibility and tray dimensions, and make sure the lower pan fits below the tray without interfering with its placement.

Choose Air Fry settings and start cooking
- Load the food. Arrange food on the Air Fry tray, then place it in the position specified by your model’s manual.
- Select Air Fry. Samsung’s general guide describes selecting Air Fry with the control dial. The exact controls can vary.
- Set the temperature. The guide shows a default of 425°F and an adjustable range of 350–500°F. Treat those figures as the settings in that guide, not as a specification for every Samsung oven. Use the recipe, package directions and your manual to choose a temperature.
- Start the oven. Samsung says, “Preheating your oven is not necessary when using Air Fry.” Its guide says to tap START or push the knob, depending on the controls.
If you are unsure about a food’s temperature or timing, use the cooking guide in your model’s manual. Samsung’s range support page estimates about 8–10 minutes per pound for turkey cooked with Air Fry; that is an estimate for turkey, not a general timing rule for other foods.
What Air Fry is suited to—and where technique matters
Samsung describes Air Fry as suitable for fresh or frozen foods that are often cooked until crisp, such as French fries, chicken wings and breaded vegetables. Its feature description says the method uses less oil than normal cooking methods or no oil; it does not provide a quantified health or nutrition comparison.

Instructions can also be model-specific. For example, the Samsung-hosted Dacor DOP48T963DS manual describes Air Fry as a one-rack method and advises spreading oil evenly over fresh or homemade food. It cautions that wet or thick coatings may not crisp or cook effectively. Follow your own oven’s manual rather than assuming these details apply to every Samsung model.

Finish safely and care for the Air Fry tray
- Turn the oven off when cooking is finished and use oven mitts to remove hot food.
- Samsung says the Air Fry tray can go in the dishwasher or be washed with lukewarm, soapy water and a plastic scouring pad.
- Remove the tray before running Self Clean. The extreme heat can damage it and permanently peel its coating.
