There is no verified current notice confirming construction near the Mabuhay Lounge at NAIA Terminal 1. The official MIAA record identified here refers to office improvements at the former PAL lounge completed in 2016—not work happening now. For current access, route or closure information, check PAL and airport advisories close to your departure.
Is construction currently underway near the lounge?
Current construction status, work boundaries, dates and passenger impact have not been confirmed by a dated notice from MIAA, the New NAIA Infrastructure Corporation (NNIC) or Philippine Airlines (PAL). That means travelers should not assume there is a detour, closure or disruption—or that normal access is guaranteed—based on the available records.
MIAA’s audited 2016 report lists “Improvement of Offices at Former PAL Mabuhay Lounge at NAIA Terminal 1” among projects completed that year. The entry is historical and does not establish present construction. It provides no current schedule, map, contractor or specific passenger-impact information. The report describes MIAA’s role in controlling or supervising construction within airport premises, but does not identify who is responsible for any current work near the lounge.
What is known about the Terminal 1 Mabuhay Lounge?
PAL Holdings’ 2023 Sustainability Report, published in 2024, describes the new international Mabuhay Lounge at Terminal 1 as 1,200 square meters, with seating for 294. Its listed facilities include buffet dining, a bar, showers, a massage corner, a nursing area, a quiet area, a vaping area and a designated plane-spotting area. These details describe the lounge, not the status of nearby construction.

How can you check lounge access and find it?
Confirm access with PAL
PAL’s myPAL Lounge page lists a Terminal 1 paid-access fee of Php 2,850. Eligible passengers may seek entry after check-in by presenting their ticket and boarding pass. PAL’s terms say entry is allowed no earlier than three hours before estimated departure, and the airline may limit access for capacity or safety reasons. Fees and terms can change, so confirm them with PAL before travel. These are lounge-access terms, not evidence of a construction-related change.
Check your terminal and route
PAL’s travel updates state that its international flights depart from and arrive at NAIA Terminal 1 effective June 16, 2023. Terminal assignments and airport operations can change; check your itinerary and confirm with your airline.

As secondary wayfinding information, Better NAIA’s lounge guide, checked August 2, 2026, places the lounge airside near Gate 15. It is not a construction advisory, so follow current airport signage and staff directions if the route differs.

What to verify before heading to the lounge
- Check recent MIAA, NNIC and PAL advisories for a dated notice about work, access routes or closures.
- Confirm directly with PAL whether the lounge is open and whether capacity restrictions apply.
- Allow time to follow airport signage and ask staff for directions if a route is blocked or changed.
