Asia Cement Corporation (Taiwan Stock Exchange: 1102) did not report a first-half 2025 net loss. For the six months ended June 30, it reported consolidated net profit of NT$4.489931 billion alongside a total comprehensive loss of NT$10.788586 billion. Those are different accounting measures, and the distinction matters when assessing what the results say—and do not say—about the stock.
Did Asia Cement report a loss?
Not on a net-profit basis for the first half of 2025. The company’s interim consolidated statements show positive net profit but negative total comprehensive results. Calling the period a “net loss” would misstate the reported earnings figure.
| Measure | Six months ended June 30, 2025 | Six months ended June 30, 2024 |
|---|---|---|
| Net profit | NT$4.489931 billion | NT$6.725058 billion |
| Total comprehensive income or loss | NT$10.788586 billion loss | NT$16.938801 billion income |
Figures are consolidated New Taiwan dollar amounts converted from the statements’ thousands-of-NTD presentation. Net profit attributable to owners of the parent for first-half 2025 was NT$4.294031 billion; it is a narrower attribution measure than total group net profit. Asia Cement Corporation’s 2025 interim consolidated statements report these amounts and the comparative period.
Why net profit and comprehensive results differ
Net profit is the period’s profit or loss recognized in the income statement. Total comprehensive income or loss includes net profit plus other comprehensive income or loss—items accounting standards recognize outside net profit. As a result, the two totals can move in opposite directions: Asia Cement remained profitable on the net-profit measure while its total comprehensive result was negative.

The comparison also shows two separate changes: first-half net profit fell from the prior-year period, and total comprehensive results shifted from income to loss. Neither figure should be used as a substitute for the other. The interim report’s notes include items such as foreign-exchange losses and fair-value gains or losses; identifying a cause for the comprehensive loss requires tracing the relevant statement components and notes, not inferring a cause from the headline total alone.
What later results add
Subsequent company releases reported positive results for later periods. Asia Cement announced consolidated net profit of NT$10.029 billion and EPS of NT$3.00 for FY2025. The same 2026 release described a proposed cash dividend of NT$2.30 per share; it was a proposal, not a guaranteed future payment. In a release dated May 13, 2026, the company reported Q1 2026 net profit of NT$1.887 billion and EPS of NT$0.56.

These later profitable reporting periods provide context, but they do not erase or explain the first-half 2025 comprehensive loss. The FY2025 annual report contains audited consolidated statements; its English translation notes that the Chinese version prevails if there is an inconsistency. The auditor’s report says the statements present fairly, in all material respects, the group’s financial position, performance and cash flows under Taiwan issuer reporting rules and IFRS/IAS standards endorsed in Taiwan. It identifies equity-method exposure to CSCGL as a key audit matter, which may be a useful area for investors to examine, but that designation does not establish that CSCGL caused the interim comprehensive loss.

For investors, the immediate implication is interpretive: a headline focused on comprehensive loss can sound like the company lost money from operations or on its net-profit line, even though its reported first-half net profit was positive. The year-over-year decline in net profit and the swing in comprehensive results are relevant signals to review, but the figures alone do not establish why the share price moved, whether investors reacted positively or negatively, or what the stock will do next.

Asia Cement Corporation is listed on the Taiwan Stock Exchange as code 1102; it is distinct from Asia Cement (China) Holdings Corporation. In its FY2025 release, Asia Cement described its business as a vertically integrated cement chain with diversification into power generation, steel, transportation and energy storage. That is the company’s description of its strategy, not proof that diversification insulates it from industry or market cycles. The Taiwan Stock Exchange company information identifies Asia Cement Corporation under code 1102.
To assess the shares, investors need dated market-price data and contemporaneous disclosures in addition to financial statements. The statements clarify what was reported; they do not by themselves supply a price reaction, a target price or a return forecast.
