Lowe’s launched a drone-delivery pilot on Sept. 24, 2026, at its store in Matthews, North Carolina. If your address is eligible, you can order selected small project supplies through DoorDash’s “Lowe’s by Drone” storefront, with Wing operating the drones. Check your address in the DoorDash app: Lowe’s has not published the service area or announced additional locations.
Where Lowe’s drone delivery is available
The pilot is live at one named location: Lowe’s Matthews, North Carolina store. Availability depends on the delivery address and appears in DoorDash when an address qualifies. Lowe’s has not provided a service-radius map or a list of eligible addresses, so being in the Charlotte area does not by itself establish eligibility. The Sept. 24 announcement also gives no timetable for adding stores. Lowe’s announcement
How to check eligibility and place an order
- Open DoorDash and enter the delivery address where you want the order delivered.
- If the address qualifies, look for the “Lowe’s by Drone” storefront.
- Choose from the items currently listed as eligible, add them to your cart, and check out in the app.
The available items and address eligibility should be verified in the app at the time you order; neither a fixed delivery boundary nor a permanent product list has been published.
What can be delivered by drone?
Lowe’s describes a curated selection suited to small, urgent project needs, including hand tools, paint products, soap, tape, all-purpose cleaner, and batteries. Digital Commerce 360 reported that the initial assortment contains more than 100 SKUs and includes screwdrivers; that count is the publication’s report, not a figure in Lowe’s announcement, and the assortment may change. Lowe’s says Wing drones currently carry orders weighing approximately 2.5 pounds per flight. That is an approximate payload description, not confirmation that every item or combination of items under that weight will qualify.
How fast is delivery, and what does Lowe’s promise?
Lowe’s says a drone order may arrive “as fast as 20 minutes.” This is the fastest-case description, not a guaranteed arrival time for every order or address. The announcement does not provide delivery-time averages, fees, weather rules, or other conditions that determine whether a specific order can fly. Check the app for the live options presented at checkout.

Who handles each part of the service?
- Lowe’s supplies the merchandise and selects the items offered through the pilot.
- DoorDash provides the storefront and order channel.
- Wing operates the delivery drones.
Lowe’s chief information and AI officer, Seemantini Godbole, said the pilot is intended to address project needs through a retail-integrated fulfillment option. That describes the company’s rationale; it is not independent evidence about delivery outcomes.

Lowe’s identifies buy online, pick up in store; curbside pickup; and same-day delivery as other available fulfillment choices. The announcement does not provide comparable prices or service-time guarantees for those options, so use the details shown for your order rather than assuming the drone option is cheaper or faster in every case.
