Moroccan construction group SGTM has been selected for a reported first renovation lot at Fez stadium, valued at MAD 2,825,100,670.80 including tax. The package covers demolition and major building works, but it is not evidence that SGTM has been awarded the entire stadium upgrade. Separate tenders for electrical and building-services systems were reported as open procurement.
What SGTM’s Fez stadium contract covers
Médias24 reported on 6 October 2026 that the National Agency for Public Facilities (ANEP) selected SGTM’s offer for a first lot worth MAD 2,825,100,670.80 including tax. The report said the commission completed its work on 2 October and described SGTM’s offer as economically most advantageous compared with an offer from a competing consortium. [Médias24]
The awarded package includes demolition, structural work, waterproofing, metal framework, finishes, false ceilings, joinery and painting. These are substantial construction and finishing activities; the reported award does not establish that the separate electrical and fluid-systems packages are part of SGTM’s lot.
Other Fez stadium packages were reported separately
Morocco World News reported two additional tenders, together estimated at MAD 1.519 billion: an electrical package estimated at MAD 1.291 billion and a fluid-systems package estimated at MAD 228.18 million. Those amounts are estimates for separate tenders, not awards to SGTM. The report does not establish that either tender has since been awarded. [Morocco World News]

How the project relates to the 2030 World Cup
Morocco is preparing venues for the 2030 FIFA World Cup, which it will co-host with Spain and Portugal. The government’s Niya Maghribia stadium page lists Fez as a projected venue, with capacity of 55,800 gross seats and 49,200 net seats. Those are projected venue figures; they do not describe seats added by SGTM’s construction lot. [Niya Maghribia / Ministry of Youth, Culture and Communication]

The Fez work sits within a wider national stadium-upgrade effort. A 2023 Royal Moroccan Football Federation archive describes a government-CDG partnership to upgrade six stadiums and construct another, with a second FIFA-standard upgrade phase planned for 2025–2028. It cites MAD 4.5–6 billion for that broader phase; that historical program figure is not the budget for SGTM’s Fez award. [Royal Moroccan Football Federation]
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. What the reported totals do—and do not—show
The reports do not reconcile a wider Fez stadium rehabilitation estimate of MAD 2.79 billion with SGTM’s MAD 2.825 billion first lot or the separately estimated systems tenders. They do not establish whether the wider estimate includes those systems packages. The figures therefore should not be added together or treated as a single confirmed project total without the underlying procurement documents.
