An earlier report, published May 21, 2026, said pedestrian improvement work was scheduled to begin May 25, with fewer lanes and detours expected for two months. That was an earlier project update, not the duration of the later Kanis Road closure. May 21 local traffic report
Can drivers reach nearby businesses?
The October report says local businesses remain accessible during the restrictions. The City’s plan notes direct the contractor to keep businesses and residences open, operable and accessible during construction. That access provision does not mean every turn or through route remains open. Drivers should follow posted signs and allow for the reported lane and turn restrictions when approaching the intersection.
