The company’s October 7, 2026 release reports Nagaur’s grinding capacity at 3.50 MTPA after the addition and total company grinding capacity at 25.10 MTPA. JSW Cement’s corporate profile lists installed grinding capacity of 25.1 MTPA as of October 6, 2026; that profile date is not independent confirmation of the commissioning announced the following day.
What capacity did JSW Cement add at Nagaur?
The added unit contributes 1.00 MTPA of grinding capacity. It follows Nagaur’s initial 2.50 MTPA grinding unit, which JSW Cement said was operating when it announced the first phase in March 2026. Adding the two grinding units gives Nagaur a reported total of 3.50 MTPA. JSW Cement’s March 19 release described the initial facility and the additional unit as under construction; the October 7 announcement, reported by Press Network of India, says the additional unit has been commissioned.
These figures describe cement grinding capacity, not clinker capacity, actual production, or sales. Nagaur’s separately reported clinkerisation capacity is 3.30 MTPA; it should not be added to the grinding figure when comparing grinding-capacity totals.
What is JSW Cement’s total grinding capacity now?
The October 7 release reports total company grinding capacity of 25.10 MTPA following the Nagaur commissioning. JSW Cement’s corporate profile states installed grinding capacity of 25.1 MTPA as of October 6, 2026. The two figures match at the precision shown, but the profile’s date precedes the commissioning announcement and does not independently verify that event.

The profile says its installed-capacity total includes production through exclusive manufacturing partnerships: 1 MTPA associated with subsidiary Shiva Cement and group company Bhushan Power and Steel Limited, and 0.8 MTPA with group company JSW Steel Limited. Comparisons with other company announcements should therefore check whether partner production is included and should compare grinding capacity with grinding capacity.
Where is the Nagaur plant, and which markets can it serve?
Nagaur is in Rajasthan and is JSW Cement’s first integrated facility in North India, according to the company’s March 2026 release. JSW Cement said the facility could serve Rajasthan, Haryana, Punjab, and the National Capital Region. Its October announcement says the added grinding capacity enhances its ability to serve cement demand across those markets.

The March release described a 3.30 MTPA clinkerisation unit alongside the initial 2.50 MTPA grinding unit. It also said the facility was funded through equity and long-term debt, with ₹800 crore from IPO fresh-issue proceeds allocated toward part-financing the initial Nagaur unit.
What else was commissioned at Nagaur?
The October release reported that Nagaur’s Alternate Fuel Handling System and Waste Heat Recovery System (WHRS) were commissioned during the quarter ended September 30, 2026. The release characterizes cost benefits as expected; it does not provide measured cost savings or emissions reductions, so no quantified impact can be inferred from the announcement.

What the company said about the commissioning
Nilesh Narwekar, CEO of JSW Cement, said the additional unit had been commissioned within the expected timeline, adding that it showcased the company’s project execution capabilities. This is the CEO’s assessment in the October release, rather than an independently established performance finding.
In the March announcement, Parth Jindal, Managing Director of JSW Cement, called the commencement of production at Nagaur “a pivotal moment for JSW Cement.”
