The company also raised its 2026 outlook after a strong first half and the SE&M acquisition. A MarketScreener item dated October 5, 2026, and credited to MT Newswires reports that Oppenheimer sees growth potential, but the headline alone does not reveal the analyst’s forecasts or reasoning.
What Everus does—and where data centers fit
Everus Construction Group is a specialty contractor with Electrical & Mechanical (E&M) and Transmission & Distribution (T&D) businesses. E&M builds and maintains electrical and communications wiring and infrastructure, fire-suppression systems, and mechanical piping and services. T&D builds and maintains overhead and underground electrical, gas, and communications infrastructure. Those capabilities provide context for its role in data-center construction, but the company has not quantified what share of its revenue comes from data centers. Everus company overview
How strong were Everus’s second-quarter 2026 results?
In results released August 4, 2026, Everus reported $1.23 billion in second-quarter revenue, up 33.7% year over year. Net income was $83.9 million, up 58.9%, and diluted earnings per share were $1.64, up 59.2%. EBITDA was $128.6 million, up 52.7%. The company described these as quarterly records except where otherwise indicated. EBITDA is a non-GAAP measure; it should not be treated as a substitute for GAAP net income or cash flow. E&M was the main growth engine
E&M generated $1.01 billion in revenue, up 41.6% year over year. Excluding contributions from the SE&M acquisition, organic growth was 36.9%. Everus said higher commercial and industrial revenue—particularly continued growth in the data-center submarket—primarily drove the increase. Lower institutional revenue partly offset it. E&M backlog stood at $4.16 billion, 62.1% above the year-earlier level. Everus second-quarter 2026 results

T&D grew more slowly
T&D revenue was $227.5 million, up 7.1% year over year. Everus attributed the increase mainly to utility work, particularly transmission and distribution projects, partly offset by lower transportation revenue. The contrast matters: second-quarter growth was substantially stronger in E&M than in T&D. Everus second-quarter 2026 results
What the company said about demand and backlog
CEO Jeffrey S. Thiede said Everus booked more than $2 billion of projects during the quarter, taking its record backlog to about $4.6 billion, up roughly 53% year over year. He also cited continued strength across the company’s markets, including data centers, hospitality, and high tech. These are management’s assessments. Backlog indicates contracted or otherwise reported future work, but it is not guaranteed revenue or profit. Everus CEO comments in the Q2 release

What does Oppenheimer’s reported view establish?
The October 5, 2026 MarketScreener syndication, credited to MT Newswires, carries the headline “Everus Construction Poised for Growth Amid Data-Center Demand, Oppenheimer Says.” It supports saying that Oppenheimer was reported as holding a positive growth view. The item does not establish the analyst’s identity, the note’s estimates, rating, price target, valuation assumptions, risk discussion, or full rationale. Without the underlying note or a fuller reliable account, those details should not be attributed to Oppenheimer. MarketScreener/MT Newswires headline
Quick Recap
How to read the growth case
- Reported versus organic growth: acquisition contributions lifted reported results; Everus separately disclosed 36.9% organic E&M revenue growth excluding SE&M.
- Different segments, different pace: E&M’s 41.6% reported growth exceeded T&D’s 7.1% growth in the quarter.
- Company performance versus analyst opinion: the results and guidance are Everus disclosures; the available Oppenheimer reference is only a reported headline.
- Data-center exposure remains unquantified: Everus named the submarket as a driver of E&M growth, but did not state its share of revenue.
