Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsConstruction on the west side of UC Davis’s ASUCD Coffee House is complete, but the larger project is not quite ready for use: furniture remains to be installed. UC Davis reported Sept. 22, 2026, that the project will add ASUCD staff work areas and expand the outdoor patio; it did not give a furniture delivery date or patio opening date.
What is complete—and what remains
UC Davis’s Dateline report describes west-side construction as complete and the overall project as nearly complete. Its remaining item is furniture, so construction completion should not be mistaken for confirmation that the expanded patio is furnished or open.
The current update does not state a final completion date, project cost, added seat count or patio dimensions.
What the CoHo project adds
The current update identifies two additions: work areas for ASUCD staff and an expanded outdoor patio. An earlier account of the project also described plans for more patio seating, improved staff break and belongings-storage areas, and customer restroom renovations intended to move toward gender-inclusive restrooms. Those were reported planning goals; the 2026 update does not confirm that every component was delivered.

How the project developed
The California Aggie reported on Jan. 15, 2024, that the CoHo expansion had begun in 2022 and that the transition of nearby Freeborn Hall created an opportunity to expand westward. At that planning stage, final design was nearing completion, but costs and funding had not been settled. A summer 2024 finish was described as a hope, not a confirmed schedule.
In that 2024 account, Darin Schluep, then identified as Food Service Director with Associated Students Dining Services, said the dining room remained impacted despite serving fewer customers per day than before COVID, and described that as an opportunity for growth. That was his rationale at the time, not a current measure of customer volume.
