In its October 1, 2026 announcement, DTE said Ford’s target was that by the end of 2027 every Ford vehicle manufactured in Michigan would be assembled with the equivalent of 100% carbon-free electricity. This is a target reported by DTE, not confirmation that the outcome has already been achieved.

Project timeline

What is—and is not—established about the build
DTE’s reviewed project announcements identify the facility’s location, stated capacity, timeline and connection to Ford. They do not name the solar-panel or inverter manufacturers, project contractors or specific plant equipment, so no supplier or equipment attribution can be made from those announcements.
DTE separately announced in May 2026 that it was seeking developers for 1,000 MW of Michigan-based wind and solar projects. That solicitation is wider development context, not Cold Creek capacity, and does not establish that any bidder or contractor on the solicitation worked on the park.
