Fisk Electric Company, a subsidiary of Tutor Perini, has been awarded an electrical services contract valued at approximately $24 million for a new, ground-up data center in Houston, Texas. The customer is confidential, and the October 6, 2026 announcement does not disclose a project address. The work also gives Fisk a role in prefabricating modular containment and related electrical and liquid-cooling infrastructure at its new Houston facility.
What Fisk Electric will do on the Houston project
The contract covers electrical services for a new data center. The announced scope includes prefabrication and assembly of modular containment systems and related electrical infrastructure, including liquid-cooled components and piping. The announcement does not describe the facility’s capacity, the detailed division between off-site and on-site work, or the equipment specifications.
Tutor Perini’s FY2025 annual report describes Fisk’s broader expertise as “the design and development of electrical and technology systems” within the company’s Specialty Contractors segment. That corporate description provides background; it does not add project-specific scope beyond the award announcement.
How prefabrication fits the work
Fisk says the modular units and related components will be built at its new Houston prefabrication and manufacturing facility, which the company describes as 75,000 square feet. Prefabricating assemblies off-site can move some work into a controlled facility before components are delivered for installation, but the announcement does not quantify expected labor savings, schedule gains, or the share of the electrical work that will be prefabricated.

The release cites nationwide electrician shortages as a demand driver for prefabrication, but provides no measured shortage figure or named study. It therefore supports the company’s qualitative explanation, not a project-specific or quantified labor claim.
Who received the contract and what is disclosed
Tutor Perini announced the award on October 6, 2026, identifying Fisk Electric as the contractor and the customer only as confidential. No customer name or site address is disclosed. The announced contract value is approximately $24 million; no breakdown of that amount by trade, materials, or fabrication work is provided.

Expected schedule and backlog treatment
As of the October 6 announcement, Tutor Perini expected electrical construction to begin in the fourth quarter of 2026 and substantial completion in the first quarter of 2027. These are forward-looking expectations, not confirmation that work began or finished on those dates. The company said the contract value would be reflected in its third-quarter 2026 backlog.
