Does the Ninja HyperHeat Cook 20% Faster Than Instant Pot’s Best?

The Ninja HyperHeat PC201 is not proven to cook 20% faster than an Instant Pot. Here’s what the claim says, which Instant Pot model it compares with, and what the manufacturer specifications establish.

No verified head-to-head test establishes that the Ninja HyperHeat cooks 20% faster than an Instant Pot. The comparison behind that headline is between Ninja’s HyperHeat PC201 and the Instant Pot Duo, but the cited article does not disclose a controlled testing method. SharkNinja’s own speed claim is different: it says the HyperHeat cooks “up to 2X faster” than traditional slow cooking, not faster than an Instant Pot.

What the 20% claim actually measures

Gadget Review’s February 6, 2026 article uses “20% faster” in its headline, but its body describes the Ninja as having “20% more cooking power” than the Instant Pot Duo. Those are different measures: power does not establish how long a meal takes to finish.

The article also gives a quinoa example of five minutes for the Ninja versus eight minutes for the Duo. It does not publish a reproducible test protocol explaining whether the times include preheating and pressure release, or whether recipe, batch size, ingredients, and settings were held constant. Tom’s Guide framed the comparison as a Ninja claim and said it planned to test it. The reviewed sources provide no independent published head-to-head timing result for the Ninja PC201 and an Instant Pot model.

Which Ninja and which Instant Pot?

The Ninja in question is the Ninja HyperHeat 6.5-qt Electric Pressure Cooker, model PC201. Gadget Review names the Instant Pot Duo as the comparator; it does not establish that the Duo is the definitive “best” Instant Pot.

Recent recommendations vary by publication and intended user. Good Housekeeping’s August 28, 2026 roundup selects the Duo Plus as best overall, the Duo as best value, and the Pro for advanced users. TechRadar names the Instant Pot Pro its best overall. “Instant Pot’s best” therefore depends on the reviewer’s criteria, and a speed comparison needs to identify the exact model.

What SharkNinja claims about speed

SharkNinja’s US product page says HyperHeat technology builds pressure quickly to deliver meals “up to 2X faster” than traditional slow cooking. That is a manufacturer claim with traditional slow cooking as the comparator; it is not a claim that the PC201 is twice as fast as an Instant Pot. The page does not provide a controlled Instant Pot comparison.

How to compare cookers fairly

A meaningful speed test should use the same recipe and ingredient quantity, comparable pressure settings, and clearly stated timing boundaries. Total elapsed time should specify whether it includes the cooker’s heat-up to pressure and the pressure-release period. Without those details, a short programmed cook time may not tell you how soon dinner is actually ready.

When choosing between the PC201 and an Instant Pot, focus on the differences that are established rather than treating the speed headline as proven:
