A 10-inch table saw is defined by its blade diameter—not by how much it can cut, how portable it is, or how well it suits your work. Choose by matching the saw’s form factor, cut depth, rip capacity, power requirements, fence, safety equipment, dust handling, and included accessories to your projects and workspace.
What “10-inch” tells you—and what it doesn’t
The measurement refers to the blade diameter. It does not, by itself, indicate the saw’s motor power, maximum cutting depth, rip capacity, portability, or cut quality. For example, two manufacturer-listed Bosch 10-inch worksite saws have different rip capacities: 32.125 inches to the right of the blade for the GTS15-10 and 30 inches for the 4100XC-10. Those figures are product specifications, not results from an independent comparison.
Before comparing models, identify the largest workpieces you expect to cut, whether the saw needs to move between sites, what electrical supply is available, and how much room you have for the saw and material support.
Choose a form factor for the way you work
Portable jobsite and worksite saws
Portable saws are designed around transport and setup. Their stands, weight, and footprint matter if the saw will move between locations or be stored between jobs. The Bosch GTS15-10, for example, is listed as a 91-pound jobsite saw and includes a wheeled stand. Bosch describes the 4100XC-10 as a worksite saw with a wheeled Gravity-Rise stand. These are manufacturer descriptions; actual convenience depends on your site, route, and setup needs.

Stationary shop saws
Contractor and cabinet saws are intended for a more permanent shop arrangement. Their installation, footprint, power needs, fence and rail configuration, and dust collection setup may differ from those of portable saws. SawStop’s contractor-saw manual, for instance, documents specifications for a particular configuration, including a 4-inch dust collection port. Check the manual for the exact saw and configuration rather than assuming all stationary saws share those details.
The available examples do not establish a universal ranking between portable and stationary designs. The right choice depends on whether moving the saw or accommodating a fixed shop setup is the greater priority.

Compare capacity with your actual cuts
Rip capacity
Rip capacity describes how far the fence can position a workpiece from the blade. Check capacity on both sides of the blade when the manufacturer provides it, and compare it with the panels and stock you routinely handle. Bosch lists 32.125 inches of right rip capacity and 14.125 inches of left rip capacity for the GTS15-10; the 4100XC-10 page lists 30 inches of rip capacity. Confirm the intended side and the exact model specification on the GTS15-10 product page and 4100XC-10 product page.
Cut depth
Maximum cut depth tells you the thickness a saw can cut at a stated blade angle. The GTS15-10 is listed at 3-9/16 inches at 90 degrees and 2-1/2 inches at 45 degrees. The SawStop contractor-saw manual lists 3-1/8 inches at 0 degrees and 2-1/4 inches at 45 degrees for its documented configuration. These are not a controlled comparison: one set comes from a Bosch product page and the other from a SawStop manual for a particular configuration. Check the manufacturer’s specifications for the saw you are considering and the angle you need.

Check power, footprint, fence, and dust arrangements
Make sure the saw’s electrical requirements match the available supply, and consider how much room you need for the saw, stand, and workpiece support. Manufacturer-listed specifications can help narrow the choices, but they do not establish real-world cut quality or ease of use.

Values in the table are specifications published by the named manufacturers or, for SawStop, in its owner manual; they are not independent test results. The Bosch 4100XC-10 listing states its rip capacity but does not specify a left-side figure in the cited material. The SawStop manual describes capacity as dependent on fence and rail configuration rather than giving one value for every setup.
Rank #4

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission’s November 1, 2023 proposed-rule document describes safety devices and states: “The riving knife and modular blade guard represent the latest safety measures that have been incorporated into voluntary standards for table saws.” This is language from a proposed rule, not a final rule or a product test. Read and follow the exact saw’s user manual, use the specified guarding, and apply safe operating practices for every cut.
Verify the included kit and accessory fit
Package contents differ by model and can change, so verify the exact SKU and current listing before buying. Bosch lists a 10-inch carbide-tipped blade, rip fence, miter gauge, barrier guard, anti-kickback device, push stick, and GTA50W wheeled stand among the GTS15-10 package contents. For the 4100XC-10, Bosch lists a blade, fence, auxiliary fence, miter gauge, guard system, push stick, and insert. King Canada lists a supplied 10-inch, 60-tooth blade for the KC-5016C, while RIDGID names a stand and blade among the R4514’s included items.
Blade diameter alone does not establish compatibility. Before buying a replacement blade or accessory, check the model’s arbor, blade requirements, guard clearance, and manufacturer compatibility information. Bosch lists GTS15-10-compatible accessories including vacuum hoses and adapters, a dust bag, zero-clearance and dado inserts, and outfeed support; confirm compatibility for the exact saw and accessory.
A practical selection checklist
- Match the use: Decide whether you need a portable saw for site work or a stationary installation for a shop.
- Check capacity: Compare rip capacity on the relevant side of the blade and cut depth at the angles you use.
- Confirm the setup: Verify electrical requirements, transport needs, footprint, and room to support long or wide stock.
- Review the equipment: Inspect the fence, included guard and anti-kickback components, dust port, stand, and package contents.
- Verify fit and availability: Check the exact SKU, manual, accessory compatibility, live price, and stock before purchasing.
What model specifications can—and cannot—tell you
Manufacturer pages and manuals establish listed specifications and package details. They do not, on their own, settle comparative accuracy, durability, vibration, cut quality, or real-world convenience. No current retail prices or inventory are established here, so check sellers for live information rather than treating an old or general estimate as a current price.
