The best large-capacity air fryer depends on how you cook: choose a dual-basket model for separate foods and coordinated finish times, an oven-style model for multiple racks, or a broad single basket for one large batch. These six models stand out in independent reviews, but their stated capacities use different units and layouts, so a bigger number does not necessarily mean more usable cooking area.

The capacities above are figures reported by the reviewers, not a standardized measure of the food that fits in a single layer. RTINGS says an 8-quart air fryer may serve approximately six people, depending on the dish; treat that as a rough estimate, not a promise for every meal. Which configuration suits your meals?
Choose two baskets for a main and a side
Dual baskets make it easier to cook two foods separately, set them for different cooking needs, and coordinate when they finish. The Ninja Foodi DZ550 is the strongest fit here if the built-in temperature probe is useful to you and there is room for a larger unit. The DZ401 offers the same reported 10.1-quart dual-basket capacity at a lower cost, but RTINGS reports that its performance falls short of the DZ550.
The glass-chamber Ninja Crispi DualZone DD101 is another two-chamber option at a smaller reported capacity. Its glass chambers let you watch progress and can be used for storage with the included lids, according to RTINGS. Choose it for those features rather than assuming that nearly 8 quarts will cook as quickly as the larger Ninja baskets.

Choose an oven-style design to spread food across racks
The Chefman Multifunctional Air Fryer+ uses three stacked racks, offering more places to spread food than a single basket. That can suit batch cooking, but rack position and food placement matter: RTINGS notes that this oven-style model can cook less evenly than basket-style alternatives. Its many advertised presets should not be mistaken for an equally large number of distinct cooking modes.
Choose one broad basket for a single batch
The Typhur Sync is a single-basket 8-quart option. RTINGS recommends it for its frying consistency and large basket surface; its wireless probe and app add connected cooking features. It does not provide the separate cooking chambers of a dual-basket model, so it is better suited to one broad batch than to cooking a main and side independently at once.

Consider the convertible basket if shopping in the UK
The Philips Airfryer 5000 Series Megabasket can be used as one 10-litre basket or divided into 3-litre and 6-litre zones, according to T3’s July 2026 review. That convertible layout is a middle ground between one open cooking area and permanent split baskets. What to check before choosing
- Usable area: Check basket floor dimensions and how much food can sit in a single layer. Total quarts or litres do not make unlike designs directly comparable.
- Counter space: Measure the appliance’s full footprint, including room for ventilation and access. RTINGS flags the DZ550 as taking substantial counter space; T3 gives dimensions and weight for the Philips above.
- Cooking workflow: Decide whether separate zones, synchronized finish times, a probe, app support, multiple racks, or a viewing window will actually help with the meals you make.
- Surface and cleanup: If you prefer glass or want to avoid particular nonstick coatings, check the exact materials and care instructions for the specific model. RTINGS identifies coating as a comparison factor; material preference alone does not establish a health claim.
- Market and price: Availability and prices vary by country and change over time. The Philips price above is UK context from T3’s July 2026 review, not a live quote.
How to choose among the six
- Need two independently controlled cooking areas? Start with the DZ550 or DZ401; consider the DD101 if glass chambers and included storage lids matter more than the larger Ninja basket capacity.
- Want more room to spread a batch over racks? Consider the Chefman, while accepting its reported evenness trade-off.
- Prefer one large cooking area? Consider the Typhur Sync; UK shoppers who want the option to divide or recombine cooking space can compare the Philips Megabasket.
- Check fit and current local availability. Verify dimensions, model variant, warranty, and live price with the manufacturer or retailer before purchase.
