That identifies the brand-side company, not the contract factory for any specific strap. Are HAUL-MASTER straps any good?
They can be a reasonable choice when the specific model’s working load limit, length, width, hooks, and construction suit the load and anchor points. Harbor Freight publishes those product details and operating guidance. Its customer ratings are retailer reviews, however—not controlled comparisons that establish how the straps perform against competing brands over time.
For construction or equipment hauling, choose by the requirements of the actual tie-down job rather than brand reputation or strap color. Confirm that the load and anchor points are appropriately rated, then use the working load limit (WLL) marked on the specific strap and follow its manual. Break strength is a different published figure; it is not the load to aim for when securing cargo.

Before buying, compare the WLL, break strength, webbing width and length, hook type, handle and strap materials, pack count, and whether soft tie-loops are included. Make sure the chosen configuration works with the load and rated anchor points; a higher break-strength number alone does not make a strap the right choice.

Use and inspect the straps correctly
Harbor Freight’s product FAQ gives several practical precautions. Keep at least two wraps of strap around the ratchet spool while the tie-down is tight, protect webbing from sharp edges, and inspect each strap before use. Fold the handle flat against the ratchet to engage the lock. Harbor Freight warns: “Your load is not secure if the ratchet handle is not folded down flat against the ratchet strap.” Consult the manual for the exact item you own.
- Do not use a strap with damage that could compromise it; inspect it before each use.
- Prevent contact with sharp edges that could cut or abrade the webbing.
- Check that the strap is routed and wound with at least two wraps around the spool when tight.
- Fold the ratchet handle flat against the strap to lock it as directed.

What warranty does Harbor Freight list?
The reviewed two-pack product page states a 90-day limited warranty against defects in materials and workmanship, subject to limitations. Harbor Freight’s general warranty information lists exclusions including misuse, abuse, negligence, accidents, unauthorized repairs or alterations, criminal activity, improper installation, normal wear and tear, and lack of maintenance.
