If the appliance is missing or the coverage date looks wrong, you can register it or ask Samsung to review the record with proof of purchase. The exact coverage depends on the refrigerator’s model, purchase date, and where it was bought.
Check your warranty in your Samsung Account
- Sign in to your Samsung Account on Samsung’s website.
- Open My Products and select your refrigerator.
- Review the warranty status and the product details shown for that appliance.
Samsung says coverage starts automatically on the purchase date; registration provides additional benefits, offers, and support. The online account is a useful place to check the recorded status, but the model-specific warranty determines the applicable terms. See Samsung’s warranty checker if you need to check a product or find support options.
If your refrigerator is not listed
Have the refrigerator’s model number and serial number ready, along with the receipt or other proof of purchase. Use the serial number from the appliance itself rather than relying only on the box. Samsung says the refrigerator identification label is on the lower-left side of the exterior near the front; another label is inside on a side wall above the top shelf.
Register the refrigerator through your Samsung Account, or contact Samsung Support for help. Enter the identifying details from the appliance label carefully so the registered product matches the refrigerator you own.

Correct an incorrect warranty date
- In your Samsung Account, open My Products and select the refrigerator.
- Choose Review Warranty.
- Upload proof of purchase, such as the receipt, and submit it for Samsung to review.
The account date may need correction; uploading documentation requests a review and does not itself guarantee an update. Keep the purchase document available in case Samsung needs additional information.
What Samsung refrigerator coverage may include
Samsung US describes one year of manufacturer coverage for most refrigerators, as well as additional terms for certain components. Its overview describes five years of sealed-system coverage and separate digital inverter-compressor coverage of 10 years for parts and five years for labor. These are broad page-level descriptions, not a promise that every refrigerator has those terms. Samsung states, “Coverage details may vary by model — check your refrigerator for exact terms.”

To decide whether a particular repair may be covered, check the warranty document for your exact model and compare:
- Component: whole appliance, sealed system, or compressor.
- Parts and labor: component coverage may provide different terms for parts and labor.
- Coverage period: the purchase date and the remaining term matter; Samsung describes standard coverage as starting on the purchase date.
- Location: country of purchase and country where service is requested can affect service availability.
- Plan provider: Samsung manufacturer coverage, Samsung Care+, and a retailer’s separate plan are not interchangeable.
Use Samsung US’s refrigerator warranty page to find the model-specific terms or contact Samsung Support for a definitive answer about a repair. Do not assume a part is covered just because the refrigerator is still within a general warranty period.

Check where the refrigerator was purchased and which plan applies
Bought outside the United States
This guidance is based on Samsung US support pages. Samsung warns that service for a product bought in another country may be limited to the country of first sale. If you live elsewhere than where the refrigerator was purchased, ask Samsung whether service is available where you are; cross-border repair may cost more or take longer.
Retailer extended plan or Samsung Care+
If you bought an extended plan through Costco, Home Depot, Lowe’s, Best Buy, or another retailer, start a claim through that retailer’s website rather than treating it as a Samsung manufacturer-warranty claim. Samsung Care+ is a separate optional protection plan; check with Samsung for current terms and eligibility, since availability can depend on the product and circumstances.
