Jeff Bezos reportedly sold his waterfront mansion in Hunts Point, Washington, for $63 million in spring 2025. News reports described the sale as Washington state’s most expensive home sale as of April 2025; the available reporting does not establish whether that ranking remains current.

What was reported about the sale?

Fortune reported the spring 2025 sale at $63 million and credited the Puget Sound Business Journal as the first outlet to report it. Inman reported the transaction on April 11, 2025, and likewise gave the price as $63 million. The publication date is not an exact closing date.

The property is in Hunts Point, on Seattle’s Eastside. Calling it a “Seattle mansion” is shorthand for a Seattle-area home, not a claim that it is within the city of Seattle.

What is known about the house?

Inman described the property as a 9,420-square-foot waterfront mansion and reported that Bezos bought it in 2019 for $37.5 million. Those details are attributed to Inman; they are not independently verified here against assessor records.

How firm is the Washington price-record claim?

Fortune said the sale was the most expensive home sale in Washington state as of April 2025, and Inman also described it as a state record. The careful formulation is that news reports described it as Washington’s most expensive home sale at that time. The specific deed was not retrieved, and the record claim has not been independently checked against a complete statewide transaction ranking.

A later Real Deal report, published May 5, 2026, covered a separate Hunts Point mansion sale at $38 million and referred to Bezos’s $63 million sale as having occurred the previous April. That separate transaction does not, by itself, establish the current statewide ranking.

How to check the recorded transaction

King County’s Recorder’s Office explains that its Landmark Records Search can search recorded documents by fields including consideration (selling price), parcel ID, and recording date. Searching county records is the route to checking the recorded filing; the cited news coverage is secondary reporting, not a substitute for the deed.
