Dreame says the brush cuts tangled hair at the root; it is sold separately and is not listed among the pre-installed items on the X40 Ultraโs global product page. That makes โno more stuck hairโ a manufacturer claim about an accessory-equipped setupโnot a guarantee for every household.
Does the Dreame X40 Ultra get hair stuck in its brush?
The standard X40 Ultra comes with a pre-installed main brush, but Dreameโs global package list does not identify that brush as the TriCut model. Dreame presents the TriCut Brush as the hair-cutting solution: its product page says it cuts hair tangled on the main brush โat the root.โ The accessory page describes a rubber brush with a built-in blade intended to cut hair and fur while collecting debris.
So the answer depends on which brush is installed. The X40 Ultra has a manufacturer-described way to manage hair tangles, but the anti-tangle feature is not included as standard according to the listed package contents. Dreameโs claim is not independent test evidence that all hair types, floors or homes will remain tangle-free.
Is the TriCut Brush included, and what should you buy?
Dreameโs global product page lists a pre-installed main brush, not the separately sold TriCut Brush. If reducing hair wrapped around the roller is your priority, check that the listing you buy is the compatible Dreame TriCut Brush for X40 Ultra; do not assume it comes with the robot.

There are two distinct purchase decisions: the Dreame X40 Ultra robot vacuum provides the robot and dock, while the optional TriCut Brush adds Dreameโs hair-cutting roller design. Check the sellerโs regional compatibility information and package contents before ordering.
How often should you replace the TriCut Brush?
Dreame recommends replacing the TriCut Brush every 6โ12 months for optimal cleaning performance. The cited guidance does not specify a single interval for every household, so the appropriate point within that range may depend on use and wear. Check the brush periodically and follow the manufacturerโs maintenance instructions.

What else the X40 Ultra offers
The brush is only one part of the X40 Ultra system. Dreameโs 2026 global specifications list 12,000Pa maximum suction, which Dreame qualifies as lab-based with actual performance varying; a 6,400mAh battery; a 300ml dust box; an 80ml water tank; and obstacle crossing up to 22mm. These are manufacturer specifications, not independent performance-test results.
Dreame also describes a side brush that extends and lifts, MopExtend RoboSwing, OmniDirt detection, automatic mop cleaning, hot-air drying, a self-cleaning washboard and automatic solution adding/refilling. The global page lists mop lift up to 10.5mm (0.4in) and hot-water mop cleaning up to 70ยฐC (158ยฐF); Dreame notes that outlet temperature and real-world conditions can vary. Treat these as the manufacturerโs stated features rather than proof of results in a particular home.

What to check before comparing it with another robot
For a useful comparison, look beyond suction numbers. Check whether an active hair-cutting or anti-tangle brush is included or optional, whether suction figures come from independent testing, how the brush and mop behave around carpets, what the dock automates, and the cost and replacement interval of consumables. Regional price, warranty and parts availability also matter; they are not established here and should be checked for the market where you plan to buy.
