There is no clearly verified U.S. iRobot-direct sale price for a complete new Braava 380t. iRobot still lists the model and a compatible NorthStar navigation cube, but its U.S. store prominently prices newer robot mops. iRobot Canada shows a Braava 380t at CAD $599.99, reduced from CAD $899.99; that is a Canadian listing, not proof of a U.S. bargain. Buy a 380t only when the unit is complete, tested, returnable, and substantially cheaper than a Braava jet m6.
What is actually on sale?
Availability and condition matter more than a seller’s advertised percentage discount. A “sale” can be new old stock, refurbished, open-box, used, or an incomplete marketplace unit. A historical “was” price may be a list price rather than a recent market price.

Inventory changes by country and seller. Before paying, record the asking price, condition, included accessories, shipping, taxes, return window and warranty in writing.
What the Braava 380t does
The Braava 380t is a dedicated hard-floor sweeper and mop. It does not vacuum debris and is not a vacuum-mop combo.

Dry sweeping and wet mopping
It supports dry sweeping and wet mopping with reusable microfiber cloths. In wet mode, the Pro-Clean reservoir dispenses liquid to keep the cloth damp, as described by iRobot.
Navigation and operation
The robot uses a NorthStar navigation cube rather than the app-based mapping workflow of newer models. The replacement cube uses two C batteries, included with that accessory. Basic cleaning does not depend on a modern smartphone app, which suits buyers who prefer physical, simple operation.

Runtime and coverage
iRobot rates the 380t for up to four hours of dry sweeping and 2.5 hours of mopping on hard floors. Its compatibility guidance suggests approximately 1,000 square feet for dry sweeping and 400 square feet for wet mopping. These are manufacturer test figures, not guaranteed household results; larger or complicated spaces may need multiple runs or different cube placement. See iRobot’s runtime and coverage guidance.
The ownership cost can erase a cheap price
Price the complete, working system—not just the robot body. iRobot’s U.S. parts catalog observed these prices:

These figures come from the iRobot U.S. parts catalog; stock is time-sensitive. Add shipping and tax, then compare the total with a newer robot-mop price. A low-priced incomplete unit may not be economical if it needs a battery, cradle and cube.

- At least one usable cleaning cloth.
- Original documentation when advertised as new or manufacturer refurbished.
Do not assume accessories from the Braava jet 240 or Braava jet m6 fit the 380t. Verify the exact model and part number.

When a complete 380t costs anything close to the m6 reference price, the m6 is generally the more defensible purchase because it is newer and easier to justify for buyers who need connected operation. The 380t’s case is strongest when its acquisition cost is much lower and app control is unimportant.

Inspection checklist for used, open-box or refurbished units
- Ask for a photograph of the underside and model label.
- Confirm the battery reaches full charge, then test both dry-sweep and wet-mop cycles.
- Ask how long it runs continuously and whether it stops prematurely.
- Verify that it returns to or docks on the charging cradle correctly.
- Confirm the NorthStar cube is included and test it with fresh C batteries if needed.
- Place the cube in an open, elevated location and check that the robot navigates without blocked line of sight.
- Inspect wheels, bumper movement and underside debris.
- Check the reservoir for cracks, leaks, blocked fluid channels and dried solution.
- Check cloth condition, wick caps and moisture delivery.
- Get the return period, warranty status and all extra fees in writing; avoid “as-is” sales without meaningful return protection.
When to buy, wait or skip
Buy
- The unit is complete, tested and returnable.
- The price is substantially below the $449.99–$499.99 m6 reference.
- Your floors are predominantly sealed hard surfaces.
- You accept NorthStar navigation and an older platform.
Wait or negotiate
- The seller cannot verify battery runtime, docking or navigation.
- The cube, cradle, battery or reservoir is missing.
- The “sale” relies only on an inflated former price.
- Replacement-part availability in your country is unclear.
Skip
- The total cost approaches a Braava jet m6.
- You need carpet cleaning, vacuuming, obstacle avoidance or automated room mapping.
- The listing is imported with uncertain warranty, plug or power requirements.
- The seller offers no return protection.
Bottom line
A Braava 380t can be a sensible low-cost hard-floor mop, but only as a complete and tested legacy system. The Canadian CAD $599.99 listing is not a U.S. deal, and a cheap used robot can become expensive when a $69.99 battery or $89.99 cradle is unavailable. Buy a verified, returnable 380t at a substantial discount; wait when accessories or condition are unclear; skip it when the price is close to the Braava jet m6.
